New Forum

I believe that a new forum should be created. This forum would have to do with anything Tolkien-related [besides the MEMod.] I believe, from many people's signatures and the amount of posts on LOTR threads, that many users here are LOTR fans. Currently, there is no place for these posts aside from the Off-Topic forums. Some may say the new Tolkienite Lore Forum, but this has already been proven wrong. I recently posted a topic entitled "One Ring to Rule Them All" in the Tolkienite Lore forum. This had nothing to do with the MEMod, but seeing as I thought that the Forum was for anything Tolkien related, I posted there. I received this message from Daerk:

Incorrect, Slaiv.

Read the description of the board again:

A place to discuss Middle-Earth, it's histories, and various possible ways in which the details of Middle-Earth might be implemented in MEMod.

This is not the place to discuss anything oriented close to Middle-Earth. That's for the off-topic forum.

I realise that this was a mistake on my part, and I should not have posted there; however, it was this that started me thinking that there should be a Tolkien-Works Forum, where anything LOTR or Tolkien-related could be posted.

I realize that there are a few problems with this idea, and will try my best to address them:

1. These forums are for Morrowind and its expansions.

While LOTR has nothing to do with the Morrowind [aside from the MEMod], I believe that it will increase people's want to visit these forums. The more people that visit these forums, the more that will be able to click on the ads and thus help the site. I realise that this will lead to another problem, the overfilling of the forums....

2. The forums will take up even more space, and will use too much space on the server.

True, but with the amount of ad-clicks that the extra users would bring, more space would be able for purchase. I realise that this site is paid for completely voluntarily by the owner, without request of pay, and I completely respect that as a web/graphic designer [in-training.] Sure, some people may give donations, but they are usually not enough to pay for the bills of a website. Like stated, the extra amount of users would be able to make up for the added bill [if it comes at all.]

I'm sure that the addition of a Tolkien-Related Works forum would be beneficial to the site; however, this is only my opinion. Please feel free to post any problems I may have overlooked, and I will try my best to respond to them. And to the Admin and MODs, please consider this proposal.

No, I am completely sorry, O Powerful One....

Slaiv gets on knees and starts begging for forgiveness from Dark0ne......

I received the message from Daerk, not you. The post has been changed. And no, you were not being thick, I posted "While LOTR has nothing to do with LOTR. I, again, am completely sorry....

well; if you want to create your own LOTR based-forums, you could use proboards. If you want an Invision Board, you would require knowledge of PHP, The actual invision system, and more. For Dark0ne to run these boards AND a LOTR based one would be a pain. I suggest just going out and making one yourself.

but really, i PM'd Dark0ne a while ago about another forum (dont ask), and he said that this is a Morrowind Forum, not a General Chat forum, so it aint gonna happen...end of story,.
