Kvatch Aftermath vs Kvatch rebuilt

allright KA it is!

Btw KR is really only just out of beta (2 months now), in a few updates time any issues that exist are sure to be fixed. Also it is much safer to do the Beth Kvatch battle then install KA and let it autodetect and update you game if you want to try KR later than it is if you try KA from the start, do its battles and then go and try KR.

So for users wanting to try both, do Beths battle for kvatch, then install KA and try it, then uninstall and try KR.

That gives you maximume compatiblity with KR if/when you switch.

I know the mod makers of KR pretty well and they are good guys, they worked hard on it and produced a fine mod, its work checking out.

PS best not ask people to post all KAs features here, most do not know all KAs features but I do and youd be here all day reading them. They where added over an 18 month period the last features added in 6.6 where bard and a news paper called the kvatch chronical and its not discontinued, im back supporting it again, thanks to lots and lots of nice supporters.

Wonderful news you are back, Giscard - KA is just too great to be left forgotten aside. as KR is a impressive work too (Just imagining things would be different if both had not started as independent work over the same theme).

And don't worry, we will keep the fishes flowing :) to both groups and to all modders out there who sweats hard to give us these marvelous works.

Thanks nosisab

A few thousand very nice people made me change my mind, I am currently working on a thank you gift for them to express me gratetude properly.

Take a look. Its the Elder Council mod im posting screenshots for.

I will not be posting much anymore, i only risked posting above to make sure KR got a fair crack of the whip. Eolath is a nice guy but he is a little biased in favour of my work, not that I mind but its not about whos best, its about choice, variety and fun.

Mostly fun :D

Giskard my friend, I must commend you on your new found constitution. Your new site and system of controlling the flow of feedback looks promising and I hope that it keeps you sane enough to put up with us for a bit longer. You have so many great ideas I personally am happy you are sticking around to give all of us oblivion fiends even more content to choose from. Thanks.

I would now like to take this opportunity to announce publicly that in light of your decision to stay among us and the opening of your new site, I will now be closing the Respawn archive at the Wormhole and reconstructing a TES Mod Project Link and Review Topic for your new site. May you long enjoy this hobby that is TES modding that we all, modders and players alike, grateful and appreciative may enjoy the fruits of your leisure.

Kudos to you and give 'em hell

Jeremy

Nickdeb, the topic question, about two greater mods will lead you to more confusion and uncertainty than help. There'll be biases from users to each one. Both mods asks you to do things to earn the count title, both will give you this title and both are awesome work. So, what choose?

No easy answer here, most of then would be subjectives ones, particular tastes and so on. But I think there is a 'better' way of trying both, KA will permit you to play it even before you do the main quest of Kvatch siege, of after (surer way, I think). And KA at this point is more stable as KR have some CTD related issues to address yet (KR being more recently released and so less tested). With time those issues would be gone for sure, as the modders in it are very capable people.

So, I would recommend you try first KA and after KR (they both have procedures to be uninstalled and replaced, but KR being after KA seems more easier to do). Giscard have some others big projects that includes a bigger role to Kvatch count/countess, yet compatibility is taken seriously by him, and these projects are meant to integrate with other mods the most seamless possible (Now is even a good point to introduce the 'Necromancers' and 'Mages Guild Origins, seek for then. The link above in the Giscard post is the way to go).

So it is, both KA and KR are worthy our attention, just there is a easier way to do things.

Kvatch Aftermath was my first big mod for Oblivion and was designed in my normal style, but really it was made for a different community than the one i actually found here once i got to know the oblivion community better.

It stands alone in the City Simulation catagory of Oblivion mods.

All mods made from Origin of the mages guild onwards by me where made specifically for this community and are much simpler to make and easier to test. Not at all like Kvatch Aftermath, so Kvatch Aftermath will always be unique even amongst my own work.
