What file type do I need to upload to nexus mods?

download a zip program 7zip is pretty simple: http://www.7-zip.org/

 

if anyone knows of a better program they can pitch in.

 

the .esp is the CK file you made for your mod. when you bundle it put it in the correct folder. as in make the folders it will be in such as the data folder. for example my bodyslide preset mod is in a set of folders like so "Data\Tools\BodySlide\SliderPresets"

You can switch out the 7-zip part (from Qwertyzelder's example) with Right-click>Send to>Compressed folder, simply for ease-of-use (if you don't want to download another separate program like 7-zip).

 

As for their second paragraph, their way is fine, but you could also (from within Creation Kit) go File>create archive.

Again, only really just for simplicities sake, their other way is fine.
