jjb54
Okay: 1 - Build walls around settlements. ..... Check. 2 - Set up laser turrets...... Check. ... and Robots, Mutants, Raiders and such just appear inside the settlement, via - apparently Institute Teleportation or something? Why am I doing this, if the game just " teleports " the enemies inside the secured walls? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. .. Jj ... Case in point: The Slog - Mutants and Robots suddenly appear coming up out of the pool. Sanctuary - They just appeared out of NO WHERE in front of the Sole Survivor's home. I have NO mods that have any direct or indirect Spawn of Enemies.

jjb54
that's normal honestly... freakin stupid. I've never really gave attention to the Settlements, but with the release of some good mods to build with, I decided I would not skimp and actually do some building and see what happens? I honestly just ignored the settlements and just went Quest Hopping ..... as the NPC in these settlements are wimps! How did they ever make it to see 21 years of age????????? Seriously!! When this ( the apparent theft of Institute teleport tech ) started to happen, I just had a " WTF " moment? I said out loud, " R U kidding me? I did all this time and effort to build a good settlement with big and tall walls and laser turrets and this is how the game plays? "
Fonger
place your turrets to cover where they spawn or get the mod that stops all this nonsense
jjb54
place your turrets to cover where they spawn or get the mod that stops all this nonsense Well the problem is, I tried # 1 ... and my settlers wound up D.O.A. ... so ya, that did not work out very well. :P So if there is a mod - link me to it .... So far the only mods I found are tougher NPC enemies or adjusts how often they attack. So if there is a MOD that sets them to attack by starting outside of the settlements ... LINK ME PLEASE!! :) .. Kodiak412
Try something called Settlement Attacks Beyond. This may work. From what I understand the way attack mechanics work is that once the attack is triggered you have a certain amount of time to get there before the actual attack. If you take to log the game positions the attackers where they would normally be at the time you show up in the cell. If you take to long that would position the attackers inside the settlement and that is where they will be spawned when you enter that cell. Due to this mechanic, even if you have walls, the attackers could spawn inside the settlement when you arrive.

Due to this mechanic, even if you have walls, the attackers could spawn inside the settlement when you arrive. I'll give that mod a serious look see. But the problem is - even when I'm there, in the case of THE SLOG, I was just building the Settlement. Had not activated the Beacon ... had just finished the " Quest ", to gain access to the Workshop .... I had just and I mean literally just activated the Workshop and I had Robots suddenly coming up from the Tarberry Pool ... :O That was something like the 5th or more times that this was happening, I would have Enemies spawn just in the middle of a settlement, as I had just started the building process. The other times, I would be in an established settlement, giving new assignment to new settlers and suddenly out of no where, an Enemy NPC would be standing in front of me .... attacks starting. That's when I asked, in jest - " Did the Enemies suddenly get some Institute Teleportation tech???? " Plus I have to make it clear - I have 3 - 5 HEAVY laser turrets at ALL entry ways as well as the 1 - 2 heavy duty laser missile turrets at ALL entry ways .... and I have cement walls 3 - 4 story high else where, so there is no way to ' scale ' the walls. Meaning the only way to get " in " is through the areas that would literally " Mow them down ", before they even get through the front or back " doors '. Case in point: 3 - 5 Heavy Laser turrets are just outside the walls of the entry ... as well as 1 - 2 Missile turrets. Then at ground level, if by some seriously strange chance they made it past those, which even a Deathclaw did not make it through those ...... But I take NO CHANCES ..... at ground level on the inside of the front - back door there are 3 - 5 MORE laser turrets, ready to take the last ounce of life one might have by getting through the front door.. :) This is why I'm frustrated, there is just no way at all ANYTHING could make it through the front - back entry ... just simply no way. Thus my no small frustration. .. Jj .....
Kodiak412
LOL, I wonder if you have some other mod that effects settlements. At the slog I have only ever had enemies spawn over by the diner and bus, on the road to the forged and at the back by the farming field. I have also never had robots attack and it has always been raiders, gunners or supermutes. I have had a lot of attacks here but those have been the only ones. On one of my toons started to have my settlement attacks get messed up. Dialog was broken and bodies would not be removed. After that I uninstalled all the mods I was using (including the one I mentioned earlier) that had some effect on settlements and attacks. Since I did that I have not had any other issue with attacks, other than the normal game mechanics. I usually go right to the settlement when I get the notification and I either get there early and wait, or I get there right when it is starting and the spawns are at the normal locations.
