kradus
I'd like to know a few things: Can the magic resistance enchantement protect you against any type of elemental damage? Even from the damage dealt by the fire burning from oil on the floor, or normal dragon fire and frost breath? Does it all count as magic? And the "dragonskin" ability of the Bretons? What does it do exactely? Does it restore the mana of the user from enemy spells, does it help resist the damage from spells, or both? nosisab
Don't quote my words but I do believe the magic resistance protects only against magical sources, that's the reason for the elemental resistance to protect against more mondaine hazards. PS: In many other games, it is specific for non elemental spells, like those from illusion, alteration (charm is particularly nasty) which if is ever used in Skyrim against the player I never saw happening. Edit: Not true, I saw more than once that guy (Galdur or something) which creates two illusions of himself in the fighting... still, since it happened while my character was magical protected to the neck, seems not to be a good example. PS: Now that I thought about it, are the stats changing effects sorely lacking in Skyrim other than from diseases? Rooker75
I don't know about the burning oil (or poisons for that matter), but otherwise the magic resists reduce damage from destruction spells, magical damage from enchanted weapons and dragon attacks. Breton Dragonskin converts magical attacks into magicka for 60 seconds, but doesn't (I don't think) reduce the damage they do. The Atronach and Ward Absorb perks do the same thing, as does using the Atronach stone. I usually forget to activate it, but it's pretty effective if someone is throwing a lot of destruction magic at you.

pastafrola
Dragonskin makes you invulnerable to magic too.
