vineyard
aye, i was making a new model with 3ds max, everything was done properly, however, when i load it with nifskope, the whole mesh turns into grey and the moment i try to edit the uv, it says' could not find uv for the texture' or sth like that. And then i import it back to 3ds max, the whole thing turns into black, well, the confusing thing is after i transform the editable gridding into polygon, the color return back to normal ,nifskope show no problem at all, i'm pretty curious about the reason which might causes this, as i never had any problem when export gridding mesh like that. jet4571
Use the .nif plugin and not .obj. .obj requires the .mtl for uvw with max and nifskope does not have an import for .mtl.
Ghogiel
mtl only stores material properties and not the UV coords, those are stored in the mesh(obj) When you import an obj over an existing mesh object in nifskope it'll import a NimaterialProperty along with it. those haven't been used since Ob. delete that, It'll probably also unhook the shader block. so hook that back up. and it'll reset the Num UV sets to 1. change to 4097. Also the tangent space vectors will be screwed so spells>batch>update tspace.
