Steam doesn't delete accounts so I call bulls***.

I know this because I have a steam account that I logged into recently that has Counter Strike on it, but I hadn't logged into that account for over 5 years. It was still there.

It literally makes no business sense to delete an account.

Then please find me a reason why I couldn't log in to it and I got the error message that this account does not exist.

Forgotten password?

Forgotten email?

Someone got a hold of your password and was spamming people with messages? I remember when FPSBannana had some really bad java scripts that lifted people's passwords. It got like 7 people on my friends list so its not out of the question.

I don't know,I wish I did. :(

The matter is that things like that shouldn't even be possible to happen.

I shouldn't pay any consiquences because somebody wanted to attack a company I bought one of their products.

I mean things like that make me think to turn to a console gamer some times. We PC gamers get so much screwed.

how can you possibly have problems with steam? I have 32+ games on steam, if anything its the best thing that ever came by. I never have to worry about losing discs, cd-keys and so on. I've had my account for so long now, having it been inactive for a year or so when I lost interest in pc gaming for a while, when I came back, everything was still there. I am fairly sure you simply forgot your username/password. to further confirm this, my cousin has had steam waaay longer then I have, and hasn't used it for ages. logged in not to long ago, still works. also, about Origin, you do realise THAT is a trouble maker right there? have you read the s*** it does? I immediatly removed it. Steam is by far my favorite place to buy games now, I know its safe, fast and easy.

While i largely agree with you (I've made more than a few enemies around here through my support of steam, functionally and conceptually) none of that really helps the OP.

Alithinos, really, send a message to Steam Support. They'll be better suited to help you than anyone around here.

Please be careful in your discussion of this topic. The Nexus in no way supports the circumventing of Steam for Skyrim or any other game. Discussion as to the mechanics of doing to is not allowed. Thank you. ~Lisnpuppy

Their customer support is really helpful, I get replies quickly and often get my problems solved in one or two goes.

I guess sometimes things just happen.

I didn't cared what Origin does. The only thing I cared was to be able to play my game without hassles.

But it seems some problems appear randomly.

Don't know if it's a coincidence but Steam was all problems for me,while Origin worked straight forward from the beggining.

I understand that you haven't lost your account but it happened to me. :(

And I don't believe Steam's Support is good enough, because of an incident that I also refered to earlier.

When I jumped to Windows 7 from XP,Steam wouldn't for some reason install on my computer.

It installed at other computers with Windows 7,but wouldn't on mine.

I was searching on Google for workarounds and tried anything I could find, until weeks passed.

I contacted their support and they replied me with an automated message for another problem.

I replied to them that my problem was different and didn't get an answer after that.

I was anxious because Skyrim would come out and I wanted to install Steam again,at my Windows 7 pc.

And actually I managed to solve my problem and make Steam install on my computer by writing some commands at the command prompt.

But the guy who instructed me the solution wasn't from Steam Support, but a random Modder from this very site.

After that I lost hope in Valve and Steam.

Random dude on Nexus chat had the answer to my problem, yet their official survice didn't even recognized my problem and sent me a workaround for another problem... :ermm:

And after that I realised my old account with DNF was gone... :verymad:

I have no problem with Steam. Haven't been online in years at times and my account has always been waiting for me when I got back. if anything its likely an honest mistake on their part or someone got into the account and did shady things with it. Either way, contact Valve, they'll restore your ability to hold an account.
