It's hilarious to see all this thinly veiled "How do you get the CK for a pirated game?" I have no doubt that the Steam sales surged today just because of the pirates learned that they need to purchase the game to DL the CK.

Doubt it. If sales surge it's because the game is on sale for 33% off today. Real pirates just wait till it's cracked.

Sadly, the scene release will be exactly what most paying customers want but are not allowed to have - a CK with no Steamworks integration.

haven't messed with the CK yet, but from what I read, isn't the Steam Workshop stuff all optional, meaning if you want nothing to do with it you can just forget it?

Pretty much. Just don't crawl through the menu and select that option, and it will never happen!

This thread just reminds me of how much I wish Steam would allow non Steam versions of the game to be registered to Steam. Not with Skyrim, of course. What I mean is: I have a disk version of Oblivion, and there are times I wish I could register the CD key to Steam in case I ever lose the disk/it gets scratched beyond reading.

Ok I'm totally curious on how this thread made you think that

Is there such a thing as fake pirates :P ? It is not like its a skill demanding task. I dislike that it the creation kit is through steam, but I would rather a steam CK than a GFWL Skyrim  .

Guys, dont bother this guy. Most people who pirate (like me occasionally) don't have the money to spend on games. In fact, most people who pirate wined up buying the game they pirated if they like it.

Actually, most people who steal it and do like it don't buy the game - ever.

Banned for piracy

bben46

actually, most people who "steals" just do it as a sort of demo testing to see if it was any good or at least where i come from. It is just proper manners to buy the game you like and delete the game you don't, this way supporting good games and their developer and never have to buy a game you end up hating anyway.

I will say this loudly and proudly, knowing i will with out any doubt be banned, i have pirated many games and i have bought them as soon as possible (if they where good and if they where not to my like then i have deleted them) (i got like 4 friends with skyrim so no i have not pirated that)

oh and by no way am i adverticing piracy, it is illegal o_O

Arrgh :pirate:

You were correct about being banned. But you are advocating piracy, and the fact that you don't think so is part of the reason for that ban. --TNL

I was mad at myself for paying $60 for a game before I brought it home, when I got home. Loved it. Worth every penny. Can't believe I'd ever think a video game was worth $60. Bravo Bethesda, well done, now it's time for me to get cracking on some mods.
