AJStoner
I’m guessing it can’t be done for some reason or it would have but WHY has no one imported the horse mechanics from Skyrim into New Vegas? Its seems obvious enough and the engine can obviously deal with it because it does so in the ES games.
Flowerguy360
1) It is illegal to port assets from one game to another. Doing so will have such a mod removed from the Nexus and that mod author would be banned for doing so.2) It is not simple, as the animations and skeleton and other systems from Skyrim would still have to be ported to Fallout 4. This is not a small feat for most mod authors.3) Horses are extinct in the lore of the Fallout universe.
Zzyxzz
Even when they have extinct, its possible, that the institute developed horse synths, that shoots laserbeams from their eyes and have jetpack hooves. And they don't eat carrots, they "eat" fusion cores.

BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah
I've got a Giddy that you can mount and almost straddle. He'll follow you when unmounted (is that a word? ), and attack as any follower would. When your on, he will move around and attack.Admittedly, he does act like a dog...but I actually think that's reasonably explained away (and I think it's cute ''tis way, so there! Heh ).Minigun included when mounted.Mounting animations are still funky, but I'd be happy if I could just <poof> the player into position.Laser eyes are on implemented, but not functional (I'm at the knowledge limit with that).I would welcome with open arms anyone willing to help get fast travel (where he would just walk/run to the destination, simply using his existing animations) working on him (so far you can choose a destination, and tell it to Fast Travel, but on Pip-Boy exit he just stands there). Have only asked one other modder for help with this so far because my horrible schedule makes it difficult to collaborate on an involved project (though I did put feelers out in the GMAD forums, then it got moved and I decided I wasn't ready so took it down).I didn't have any plans on actually being able to move it as one would their character...but I did have a thought about making similarly themed power armor (though that was in respect more to my APCs) as a way to, theoretically, provide that functionality.Point is, I've mentioned it before but not outright said that if anyone who's more *experienced* wants to help out with it (poor man's alternative that it may be...and maybe a little too cutesy for most), I'd welcome the help. =)Maybe I'll this opportunity to take a chance and do that now, so...paced for a person with a horrible schedule, any experienced modder want to collaborate a bit? =D...I have a video of a similar cat concept somewhere and an image or two of the Giddy...somewhere...if I can remember where...somewhere... http://www.ledgeoftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/ScreenShot330.pnghttp://www.ledgeoftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/ScreenShot323.pnghttp://www.ledgeoftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/ScreenShot335.png The cat, the same concept....but less horse-like: The APC's, same concept...but even less horse-like:
chucksteel
Blah, I would love to help but I don't think I have the skill set I can't do animations but the concept of a rideable Giddy up Buttercup is just wonderful!
Ethreon
Why no <insert animal that is not in fallout> ?Cause Chris Avellone said so.
Veliwine
With the driveable motorcycle providing a great basis, it'd be awesome to see someone with the animation skills could make a rideable animated Buttercup.. though buttercup is the toy, for a full sized one I'd call it something like 'Let's go Geronimo', and maybe include some advertisements or in game magazines to give access to craft able upgrades that advertise the adult-sized robohorse mount. Flowerguy360
Some on-the-spot fake lore: The RobCo Zephyr was the answer to adults who wanted a horse without the hassle of daily feeding and grooming of a real horse. Released in 2075, it was referred to as the "Giddyup Buttercup for Grownups." There was an ongoing lawsuit filed by Atomatoys against RobCo at the time the bombs dropped, but records seem to indicate that, although Atomatoys had a good case, RobCo was the likely victor. While the Zephyr could be mounted and ridden in similar fashion to a real horse, there were numerous safety issues reported with the robot. In rare cases, it was known to self-destruct and explode with the rider still on it. The most common complaints, however, were severe injuries caused by the robot biting and trampling riders and pedestrians alike. Additionally, mechanical failures were common, causing the robot to require frequent maintenance.Sales of the RobCo Zephyr were so successful that urban planners of several major cities across the U.S. were engaging in talks of opening up "Zephyr Lanes," in part because of the robot's popularity, but also in part due to traffic jams caused by broken-down Zephyrs blocking traffic. Hope that helps in some small way. It probably doesn't, but there it is. Edited April 19, 2017 by Flowerguy360
Greslin
As a general rule, I'm not big on fan-made Fallout lore extensions. But I really like that one. :) I'm trash on animations and textures, but I'm a reasonably decent script guy. Happy to pitch in, if anyone's going to run with this.
