Thepal
Slight issue. The Creation Kit does not create ESM files. Which means they can't be uploaded to SteamWorks. Can anyone think of a solution to this (apart from directing people to the Nexus to download master files)? ESP files cannot reference each other (references are removed upon save) Also, are there any tools at the moment to convert Skyrim ESPs to ESMs? Thepal
Well, TESSnip seems to work for converting to ESMs. But that still doesn't solve the issue with getting it out to the people over SteamWorks.
luthienanarion
Excerpt from Bethesda's tutorial on uploading mods to SteamWorks: Not every modder needs to work in the editor. Re-texture mods, for example, simply need to over-write existing texture files. The Creation Kit makes it possible to upload these mods to Steam Workshop as well. The process is exactly the same as above, except that when you are prompted to Add files to Archive by Hand, select "Yes". In the dialog that appears, simply drag-and-drop your modified files. Choose "Pack Files" when done, and resume as above. It's also possible to manually create archives without uploading. Simply navigate to "File > Create Archive" from the Main Toolbar. Arthmoor
Note that "File > Create Archive" doesn't currently work. Nothing is generated. As a workaround, you can tell it you want to publish, and when the menu comes up asking for details with the Upload/Cancel buttons, you can simply cancel there. Your archive will still be generated. @ThePal: Wrye Bash can also be used to turn the ESM flag. Right click on a mod with it, select ESMify Self, done. Then just rename it as a .esm and you're set. tiger8u2
Wrye Bash will copy your ESP to an ESM if that's what you want to do. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1840

I thought it wasn't working. What does creating the archive actually do? Does it grab all my scripts and stuff + the esp into one file? Because I tried sending a kid a file yesterday and it didn't carry over the scripts in the .esp they are actually in the data/scripts folder... Thepal
Archives work, but you can't add esps or esms to them. So it isn't a solution for getting ESM files onto SteamWorks, unfortunately.

Your modified scripts live there.
Xepha537
Did this work around thing - Upload Plugin and Archive then Cancel. I have a mod with a script. So I had my esp. Now I've got a .bsa, but I've also got a .bsl - Is this also required when distributing a mod? And would you package it like so: data\mymod.espdata\mymod.bsadata\mymod.bsl ? This stuff used to be easy...
Elec0
You should only need to zip up the .esp and .bsa. I believe the .bsl is used for either the CK or the Workshop.
