Bethesda Finally Treating The Nexus Fairly

As many of you who know me are aware, I have just returned from a month long absence and have had some catching up to do. This morning I caught up on the last month's articles at the Bethesda Blog. I was very pleased to see The Nexus sharing equal ground with Planet Elder Scrolls and finally being recognized as a strong force in the TES modding community. As many of you are aware, this is no small feat considering the Dark0ne's sites are not official fan sites and never will be without the display of official trademark and copyright disclaimers as well as links to the official sites. Congrats to the Dark0ne for achieving the level of recognition we now enjoy without the aforementioned stipulations. I'm sure that his compliance with their mod removal request has got a lot to do with that.

On another note, Congrats to LHammonds as well for making the latest round of interviewees. Also notable is Shezrie's interview. For those of you that are not familiar with Shezrie, she is the creator and driving force behind Oblivion Real Estate.

Though I am creating two sites of my own, I will always call The Nexus my home and I am proud to say that I reside here. I really love this community and the people in it. I can see great things in the future for us all, especially as Bethesda becomes more and more open and supportive of that which they have created.

So I pose a question to you Dark, If Fallout 3 is given the mod treatment will you support it here at The Nexus?

Woot! Go TES Nexus!

When I first came here (in the Spring of 06') I was just a "young" chap, looking to download Oblivion mods. I saw all of the mods that were here, and I wanted to download some that I liked. Except there was one problem: The 2kb DL limit without registering. But, I was younger, and I was hesitant about things like that, because of stories I'd heard about hidden fees and spam (not the food kind :P ) and such. So I left the site and never looked back. But then, in the Summer of 06', I stumbled across the site again, and it had nearly doubled in size! So then I decided, "Hey, why not register with an email address I rarely use?" So that's exactly what I did, and I have not regreted it.

At first I just used my account to download mods for Oblivion. But then after about a month or so, I started commenting on images. Then I learned about the forums. So, I tried them out. I seem to remember my first post being something along the lines of, "Shut up and quit complaining. If you don't like his idea for a mod, then don't post anything at all. Saying 'your idea sucks,' is really immature. Seriously. Grow up >:( ."

That was when I learned how to deal with people here. I have also made several friends here, and have seen several incredible things.

So, I would like to end by saying this: Great Job Dark0ne! Thank you very much! :D

I have also introduced several people to The Forums because they (The Forums) are so awesome.

Once again, thank you very much! :thanks:

My experience with tes nexus has been extremely similar to gman's. Nexus has been a part of my life for the last few years- to an extent it HAS been my life. I may be deflecting the topic and certainly do not want this to end up as an Oscars thank you speech/thread- but thank you, and am delighted that nexus is getting recognized, and wish the site all the more success.

In the long term the nexus may need to branch out. In recent months I have started playing Eve Online and I feel my interest in Oblivion waning, and I have visited the nexus less and less and I do not like this- as I also think of nexus as my home.

Edit: though reading frouteboras post- I may be in the minority- and certainly the oblivion community is large enough to support many such sites...

Long live the NeXuS.

I have been a member here for a while. I think the responsiveness of Our Dark Lord Dark0ne to the needs of the community and his innovations have made this site IMHO the Best TES Mod sight on the web.

Planet Elder Scrolls has a High standard for mods that they allow to be posted and that some times limits what content they allow. Here at the NeXuS a NewBie will get his mod out there with all the rough edges and I have see this community help them and I have seen great work come from this Community.

So my little gif above is for the NeXuS Community. :thanks:

And :thanks: to worm82075 for this good news.

Good for you, Dark0ne .. I too have been here a while. I was still in college when I became a member. I always come to The Nexus when looking for a Mod, and I make sure to upload my mods only at The Nexus.

:thanks: for being here!!

Great news for TESNexus.

I'm fairly new to the site only been using it for about 3 1/2 months but have really grown to love this site. The mod listings are easy to search through using the various sorting methods. I love the comments and ratings sections for each mod (I won't DL a mod if it didn't get good feed back). And the discussions and help given in the forums are top notch and awesome. I've posted quite a few questions and have always gotten great feedback, and now I'm in a position to help out others with some of their problems. I always DL my mods from here, & love this community. Keep up the great work.
