FlyIgnite
I am planning on upgrading my AMD fx 4300 to an AMD fx 8350 and i want to know if i will have to buy a new heatsink/fan for the new CPU?
venom22677
good rule of thumb is more processing power more cooling needed so i would suggest either getting a better heat sink/fan setup or going all out and getting a liquid cooler
L3s7ing
The question would be what cooler do you currently use? If you already have a good enough one there's no need for a new one.
BarefootWarrior
I am running an AMD FX-8350 / 8 core. I installed a Corsair liquid cooling system and the CPU rarely gets hot. It also depends on your case, that is if a liquid cooling system can be installed and how it is set up for ventilation. When I got my FX-8350 a new heat sink and fan did come with it and you could switch over to a liquid cooling system later but I have no idea how efficient it is as I installed the liquid cooling when I installed the CPU. Erik005
Also what motherboard do you have? A FX-8350 will not work well with a budget motherboard.

xeiiprince
as said above; your mb doesn't support the cpu you want. :-( sorry. i would suggest getting an FX-8310 at 3.4 GHz, buying a thermal paste for lower temperatures, and a cheap air cooler in replace of the stock one (way better). It's not really worth going any higher with the older AMD chipsets in my opinion.
