Who hates Dogmeat?

I have had that idiot dog bust more sneak attacks, was in the Brewery, sneaking up to get in a good sniper position...old Doggie runs up and attacks...I have shot that dog so many times he should leak like a sieve.

In Dogmeat's defense, he doesn't judge you and there are mods to adjust his more annoying features (e.g. Hush Dogmeat for the whimpering and Companions Can Sneak for stealth).

The game doesn't force Dogmeat on you except for 5 minutes during the Reunions quest.

Sure, he's also right there at Red Rocket, but you can ignore him the same way you can ignore rescuing Preston, which arguably makes for a much more enjoyable play-through.

I happen to like the mutt. So I keep him for a couple of levels before making a nice house for him and relegating him to just being cute company for some settlers- usually at Sanctuary. With or without Preston and his merry gang :D

F1 - pick dog, dog dies immediately to a random encounter.

F3 - pick dog, dog blocks door to my house, have to reload or tcl.

F4 - pick dog, dog shuts the f*#@ up. Dog better than all companions combined.

Still a walking turd.

I used a mod "Dogmeat as a Human Female" gave her some armour, a couple of decent weapons and a ring to increase her carry weight and she makes a good fighter, can carry a lot, plus she doesn't count as a companion, so you can have a second one.

I tried using that mod several months ago. She (dogmeat) ended up walking kinda lopsided for me. Since I didn't know what to do at the time I stopped using it. I tried pugmeat for awhile because my first dog was a Pug. :happy:

That makes me think wouldn't it be super if you somehow could have your dog in-game? You know like copying their image to a 3D model and replacing the nif or something.

I'm starting to like Dogmeat a lot in my latest playthrough.

but after the way he has been acting I'm changing his name to JOHN CENA

I'll be creeping around then I hear a ghoul really close.

I'll spin round looking for the threat.

I spot the ghoul and it's a John Cena moment as Dogmeat takes the ghoul down with a flying tackle

this is the only time I wished I was playing on an xbone for the replay video capture.

Wow, I found this fun to read.

Actually, I would take Dogmeat over Strong - Curie and any and all the Snowflake NPC's in the Settlements.

But I also have 5 mods for Dogmeat, that I really like:

* Killing Me Boy by Finalchance
* Shadow the Dark Husky Companion by 7iger
* Pet - Call - Feed Dogmeat by Flipdeezy
* Dog Bed for Dogmeat by SeaFaringGentleman
* Dogmeat's Backpack by Higeyosi

But like I said, I would rather have Dogmeat, then Strong* - Curie* - Ada* - Preston or be around the Snowflake Settlers any time of the IGD.

IGD = In Game Day

.. Jj ....
* I actually put Strong and Curie in the Same Settlement, as far away from me as possible. I kept hoping that they would wind up killing each other ... but it never happened! So now I just avoid Strong all together and do Curie for the BH and then keep her at the Vault that I found her in. Since I do not go there all that often.
* As for Ada, I QUICKLY get through the Quest and Dump her in a Settlement as well and assign her to the Supply Line to The Mechanist's lair. And Jezebel on a similar type Supply Line.
