Sonja
I've never really spent much time on horseback while playing Skyrim Classic, because doing so tended to increase instability. Not to mention, it was often more hassle than it was worth, and I was concerned that Convenient Horses would cause even further instability. However, I've discovered that riding in SE is very smooth, and I even installed the brand new SSE Convenient Horses, which I think is an amazing mod. There is still one thing, though, (one of the reasons I never rode in Classic) that is irksome... All the damned enemies on the road seem to think my character and companions have come along to provide dinner. The Classic version of Skyrim has a mod that removes predators from the roads, but I don't think it has been ported. When I browsed through several likely mod categories I did see at least one file that makes animals less aggressive, but it doesn't apply to companions, making it less than useful for me. I'm guessing that the delay of SKSE 64 has impacted work in this area, but No Predators on Roads is just a basic esp file... It's a nice, elegant solution, and avoids conflicts with combat mods and the like. Is there anything like that for SE? Or, does anyone have any advice. I like being able to ride finally... but constantly having to engage in battle while trying to just reach a destination without fast travelling can get annoying. Thanks! Kaltenegger
I also really miss that mod for SE! If I'm not mistaken, SkyTEST by EtaYorius addresses the issue in at least some way, but I'm yet to try it out for myself.
Sonja
I forgot about this thread..Anyway, good news! I found a mod that does exactly the same thing for SE:Fewer Predators: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5981/?Skytest is a very god mod, but unfortunately it doesn't work as well if you roll with companions.. I typically have a party that consists of my PC and two to three companions. However, simply clearing wildlife off the roads deals with the root of the problem, and while it's not 100% realistic.... the truth is that most wild animals prefer to shun signs of human habitation. gaultjohn
"Skytest is a very god mod, but unfortunately it doesn't work as well if you roll with companions" Could you elaborate further please or was that not in regards to human but rather animal companions? Thank you. Edited July 4, 2017 by gaultjohn
LeddBate
I think she's referring to the fact that animals / predators will still go after your companions even if you use Skyrtest to reduce your change of being attacked on the road.
