taylo2bs Posted April 29, 2008 Share Posted April 29, 2008 Sometimes when I make a custom spell, or a custom enchanted item, it will not be in my inventory the next time the game is loaded. I am definitely saving the game when this happens, and it doesn't always happen.. some custom spells and items will stay with no problems. It has done this when using either the arcane university or frostcrag spire to make the custom spells/enchants. It did this when i only had bethesda content installed, no third party mods, and it still does it now with OOO and a bunch of other things installed... its really the only glitch that happens, but it is very frustrating! any advice? If you have Shivering Isles you need to use the patch with the same number as you stated above, but the one meant to it. this one you got is for the Oblivion without SI and just to english versions. The D2D version is the one downloaded via Internet and have special mechanisms of copy protection and encrypting. I don't know much about the GotY, but seems it is not included in the patch restricitions (those would be just D2D and language translated versions and these must have its own patch too). I think you need just grab the version meant to SI. And about patching to 1.2.0416, this must be done, and ASAP, as there is a serious bug with previous versions. The message is misleading, they meant you would not need the 'oblivion only' patch and as put seems you would not need the SI one too, what is incorrect. taylo2bs Posted May 3, 2008 Author Share Posted May 3, 2008 Well the patch wouldn't install, and oblivion wouldn't uninstall... so i deleted the files, put in the cd and ran the setup.exe from that to reinstall it... reinstalled it, reinstalled shivering isles, then ran the patch you guys told me to install, after that, the game would freeze up and quit during the initial load screens... now when i try to uninstall it give me the same error message... i went through the registry and deleted anything i could find searching for "oblivion" and "bethesda", but now when i try to reinstall (i've tried multiple times) it goes through the entire install process, then after i click the final button, it displays the the readme, but the install program sits there and never exits, and the game freezes during the load screens Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
