He's back to playing Battlestar Galactica Online. Cool game actually, they give you daily logon bonuses...which is normally some money, ammo, and fuel. Yesterday, he was in a party and they raided a Cylon outpost :D Colonials almost got the whole star system taken over, it changes very fast though. So am i :P, 11 years of gameplay experience :D,tell him only this:Bonemancer lvl 99 x 2Novamancer lvl 99Fire Sorc lvl 99 x2Ice Sorc lvl 97andShapeshift druid lvl 99 ;)

The difference is that you lose everything you had on your ship when someone kills you in EvE because they get to scrap you. Insurance may help, but not much. By pretty much every account this is less forgiving than every game with a PvP aspect, and in some cases is even worse than some of the old Corpse Retrieval nightmares that plague some early MMOs (Everquest, Ultima Online) since you still had a chance to go back and reclaim your stuff (although often very slim if you died deeper in some of the more dangerous places.) Being able to freely attack someone for a month doesn't mean much when you get slaughtered by someone much stronger that will take months to match their current level. And even if you're close in range, you get further behind and they get stronger with every failed attempt to kill them. Nearly every MMO with a PvP aspect doesn't reward exp and money for killing players. You've been playing every day, and got into what sounds like a good corporation, but others results will vary. But yeah, it isn't my kind of game. I like games where I can go about my own thing without having to be ultra defensive and suspicious of every blip on my radar. I like my PvP for fun, and not necessarily so consequential or detrimental to my progress through the content of the game. I'm wating for Dust 514 so i could pick a giant trading post and Destroy it from orbit. Anyways i hope you can do that :teehee: :teehee:MUA HA HA HA HA Edited March 4, 2012 by Thor. Vindekarr
I tried STO this morning, I wasn't impressed. The game just looks so much like Champions Online with a diferent paint job it's not funny, the tutorial is aweful, you only get one character slot for free, and worst of all, my Ferengi doesn't look anything like a Ferengi! It's nowhere near ugly enough. On a more serious note, I was only able to play for an hour before the whole server seemed to blow a fuse, and in that hour, I didn't encounter anything that grabbed me or made me want to play. It feels like a very ambitious game, but one that overstretched itself, and fell far short of said ambitions. Maybe I'm just not used to an MMO where people aren't trying to kill me all the time, but between the ancient looking graphics, terrible interface, and the fact I never got to do anything more than shoot crash black apinted test dummies with "borg" floating above there head left me rather disapointed. But then again, you get what you pay for, and I paid nothing, so I shouldn't be surprised to recieve nothing in return. I tend to be a very harsh critic, but this was just a letdown. Edited March 5, 2012 by Vindekarr
