nosisab
One of the most unexpected and funny things I ever saw playing Oblivion was... (Tears of the Fiend needed to better understanding). Nightfall, I was near an inn itself near Anvil although I'm sure it were not the one related to the mage's guild quest. So I thought as good idea taking a sip of cheap wine, hearing some gossip and going to bed. Some 2 or 3 hours sleeping when I was waked by a fighter, more precisely a paladin of sorts that seemed to mistook me from someone he was hunting for bounty. Nothing I could say would convince him I wasn't who he was seeking and so he attacks. Now, as the most boring gooddoer insipid character whoever stepped Cyrodiil, I yield, as I couldn't sense evil in him and he accepted. And so he did... he did nothing, nothing at all, he just stood still and would not respond to dialog tentatives anymore, until ... until a mob composed by the innkeeper, a couple of imperial legionnaires and some customers came to the room and this started a fight no far west bar fight would be more proud. And as the fighter was an essential good for nothing, the mess got stairs down, and I, the player and the PC too went after laughing and LOL. There the inn seemed to never had seem so much fun in all its lifetime and to make room and trying not being involved in the confusion I got behind the bar balcony. Someway the fighter managed to reach the door and exit with the mob just behind his heel, and I went after... errr, I tried to went after when I was sudden aware I was stuck by a pillow, yes, not kidding, a pillow over the bedroll at the floor. I could do nothing to get hid of the cursed thing as the roof was low and not even crouching or jumping I could pass it. Well, TCL and TCL and there I go ... I reach the door and after the load screen the party is not less animated, somebody had managed to steal the fighter armor (don't ask, but I'm pretty sure was the lady kajiit innkeeper). At this time I was laughing to tears (fiendish and prophetic mod :) ), there were already two dead and the fighter was fainting but would not die... PS: I reported this issue and seems Simyaz patched TotF so this shall not happens anymore. I'm not native english speaker so I beg pardon for incorrect spelling and such
IndorilTheGreat
TWO of the weirdest things I've seen was in Oblivion. 1. I learned that they serve "Rat Ragu with Powdered Deer Penis" in Leyawiin (through coversation only) 2. In Chorrol, there is a dog-loving husband and wife. So, I break into their house. When I get in, the husband comes running down the stairs, fists raised. Logically, I think he's attacking me. Nope. He starts beating HIS pet dogs! One escapes out the door, but the other wasn't so lucky. :( When he tries to go outside, he attempts to open his door, but all I hear is the "Locked Door" sound, over and over, like a machine gun. It was quite funny, actually. Locked INSIDE of his own house! ;D

I will verify this in the first opportunity :)
MalachiDelacot
I can't help but wonder if some of the weirdness wasn't written into the program or if perhaps some mods cause strange things to happen. Two Skingrad guards wandering in the IC. (have screen shots). Two Imperial Foresters having it out with bows and yelling at each other....just west of Bruma. One of the Alswell invisible people just south of Bravil, walking along the road.Found a horse on the top of a large rock. Not sure how it got there, but took screen shot.My favorite that happened to my PC: Every day, I have my PC eat and bathe (if there's water near) and anyway, while she was in a pool near Skingrad, a guard passing by waded into the pool, looked at her and said, "We're always on duty." I about died laughing when he moved closer and looked at her chest. I took a few screen shots and it gave me ideas for a mini series of photos. jojo man
Is this thread about Oblivion or gaming in general? I don't have any Oblivion stories, but i've got one or two from other games. I wanted to ask before I go and hi-jack the thread.

These foresters I saw too, although was north of Bruma and they don't give up just welling, when the things got too hot I sudden remembered I had important things to do somewhere far  This one of Alswell I don't saw, wondering why :) The unhappy horse I think have something to do with trying scape being stole by certain lady with a interesting quest of bring horse shortage to Cyrodiil :D
doomjockey
I'd played WoW a while back and a friend of mine helped escort my level 20ish paladin through his first instance. My friend used one of his higher level priests so everything was going quite smoothly when we entered a dilapidated town swarming with a hostile faction known as the Defias Brotherhood. At some point during our walk through the town, one of them runs up with murder in his eyes screaming "Die, priest!" and proceeds to start whaling... ...on me. I mean, he was nowhere near strong enough to take me down either, but I guess he got a better look at that level 60 priest and reconsidered his options. MalachiDelacot
Since we are allowed to mention other games....in Half Life 2, forgot what the area is called, but it's after the ant lions, and the woman (forgot her name, too) programs those tripod machine guns. Was moving a few of the guns for protection from all the combines that kept coming in, don't know how or why, but I had two of the same babe with me. Took screen shots. Yup, I'm a big fan of screen shot, especially for when things are unusual.
Zwor
I was in Derelict Mine Level 3 in Oblivion, I grabbed this Goblin Totem Staff worth 7760 Gold, and I opened a nearby chest. Only to find out I had NO lockpicks AND it was a trap chest. It shot lightning at me and killed me one shot. I loaded my latest save which was back all the way up to Level 1 of the mine. I climbed all the way down, grabbed the staff, grabbed a lockpick, opened the same chest. This time it shot Fire Damage over Time. No prob, Healin' Pots I have, so I just went into the next room and opened a chest... Only to find out I forgot to grab a lockpick, and the chest was a trap and shot lightning at me. Which killed me at FULL HEALTH! I forgot to save too, so I had to load back at the start of the mine. Climbed down, grabbed the staff, unlocked the first chest, and got lightninged AGAIN. Loaded back up, climbed down, grabbed the staff, ran back up with 20+ Goblins chasing me (Thankies MMM!). As I exited, I turned around when all the goblins came out, I fired Midas Sparks and sent them all flying over the cave entrance XD.
