IC> "Personally, I tire of being in here so long. Our personal hygene is just plain ineffable (excpet yours, Lurel, which is only marginally better). "

"I think we should take the direct route and go straight there"

OOC> Theta I'll email the latest map.

You travel south to the next passage and as you look westwards you can see a path going off to the north. Any room must be directly south of where you were and must be presumed safe.

At the end of the the path is a door on which a plaque has been attached.

'Fizzapnoodle, Wizard extraordinaire'

In front of a door is a welcome mat. Around the door, regularly spaced are eight hanging baskets of red flowers. The baskets are numbered 1-8.

The door is locked.

Ford looks at the door and the eight baskets.

"Looks like another puzzle. Shall we bother? Who's 'Fizzapnoodle' anyway?"

He grins slightly at the name.

"Sounds pretty eccentric."

Lurel shrugs.

"You'd have to be eccentric to live in this maze.... I think. But perhaps he can tell us something useful - maybe even give us the third clue."

He looks at the baskets and gnaws his lip, thinking.

"What is it with the number 8 in this place? 8 switches, 8 - presumably - series of heads, now 8 hanging baskets.... what's so special about the number 8?"

After looking at the hanging baskets, and studying the flowers within them, for a while, Lurel knocks on the door.

Ford blinks.

"Maybe we shouldn't go around letting madmen out of their prisons. For all we know he could be dangerous..."

"And eight is twice the number of our current party size, I guess... that's probably just a coincidence though. Apart from that, I don't have a clue."

"But if you count the princess we are 5," Lurel points out, and turns towards Siffli. "Princess, does the number 8 have any special significance in your culture?"

He looks at the door, grimacing. "You could be right about letting this wizard out being dangerous..... but so is anything in this maze. Midge, what does your dangersense, say?"

He shouts through the locked door. "Who locked you in, and why do they want to keep you locked up?"
