Malchik
Heading west and south brings you to a t-junction. Right leads to a room you have not visited. Left, the passage crosses the whole maze. There is nothing in the left hand passage and no one senses any trap. Siffli can sense movement in the right hand passage. Midge is aware of danger. Switch
"So... right or left?" Ford looks around. "Anyone sense any danger?"
ThetaOrionis01
Lurel swallows. "Let's go left. If we can find the throne room without exposing ourselves to known dangers, all the better. If not, we'll just have to come back and see what's in the room on the right. But so close to the end of the maze we shouldn't take any risks we don't absolutely have to." Malchik
You walk to the right to the point where a path goes off to the south. It is unlit and there is something very threatening about it. There is no one hiding in it but you all feel very uneasy. You continue to the crossroads and turn south until the last pathway you have not tried goes off to the right. You can here a rhythmical, mechanical swoosh, swoosh, swoosh. Something big and heavy is swinging backwards and forwards. Again you all feel uneasy. There is no one hiding in this tunnel either. You continue south to the exit gate. An instruction reads. 'After setting the control panel, enter in the code.' Buttons numbered 0-9 and letters A-Z are visible. One of the passages you have not taken leads to the throne room, one to 'arrows' that sound very dangerous and one is unknown. However by now you can work out where your earlier attackers must be. ThetaOrionis01
"Code!" Lurel says despondently. "I don't have the first idea what that could be. The control panel ... that might be the switches I suppose. But code? Perhaps one of those 3 rooms we've yet to explore contains a hint, but I can't say that I like any of them. The first one over to the west - I suppose that's where our attackers are waiting for us. And I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to walk right into their lair...." He grimaces. "That dark tunnel halfway along the passage gives me the creeps - I'd avoid that if we can. And room with that swinging thing... can't say that I like the sound of that." Lurel sighs, and fishes out a coin. He throws it up into the air, and catches it in his hand. "Well, what now? Do we trust our luck and let the coin decide between facing those mad attackers, and the pendulum, or can anyone thing of any good reason why we should choose one room over the other?" He looks at the others, hoping that perhaps one of them has noticed something - anything - which Lurel hasn't. Anything to base a decision on. Switch
"I thought I saw three possible passages we could take." Ford looks around. "A danger sense would be good right about now. Siffli? Midge?" He looks to them.
ThetaOrionis01
Lurel shrugs. "It would seem not." He weighs the coin in his hand. "Heads it's the pendulum, tails it's the room with our 'friends' in it." The coin falls.
Malchik
The coin falls to heads. You enter the passage with the swooshing sound. It is incredibly dark. As you inch your way forward you begin to feel the air against your face as whatever it is swings, you assume, from side to side. It sounds very big. ThetaOrionis01
'We could really use some light here," Lurel mutters, and attempts to cast a basic light spell. "Lisette - if this spell doesn't work, could you try one of your fire spells? We really shouldn't blunder on into the dark, and run into this.. thing." Malchik
Magic hardly works in this passageway. Lurel manages to hold light for a nanosecond. It is reflected in a flash of silver. A few paces ahead a huge metal object is swinging. The gap beween it and the floor might just be big enough to push a finger through. Lurel has seen something like it in El Rhun, in the hall of the school of Death. It is an instrument of torture and death.
