mortisedsnail35
In not a good modder or have alot of understanding of how things work or should work together but was wondering what if getting a script extender to work was as simple as a piece of gear with an enchantment that was designed to direct or handle various scripts. Keep in mind I'm a dummy to this stuff but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
fore
And I guess you wouldn't mind suggesting to Steven Hawking some new method to travel to the stars. :D

mortisedsnail35
Like I said above not claiming to have a clue just a thought from outside the box. And if hawking could just figure a way to hail a cab

TheDungeonDweller
It is not as easy as you might think. It's even been stated that knowing a lot of C++ doesn't mean you can just jump on in.
mortisedsnail35
Gotcha , I don't know any c++ but was just asking
Deleted3897072User
To answer the original question, SKSE adds extra programming functions to the Papyrus language, that don't exist in the game engine and can't be constructed out of the ones that do. It's not about how scripts get used, it's about what scripts can say. To take a simple example, there is no way in vanilla papyrus to detect if a key is pressed on the keyboard. It just can't be done. Bethesda didn't give us the ability to do it. The whole concept of pressing a key is missing from the language. But amongst the many other things it does, SKSE adds the ability for scripts to detect when a key is pressed or released, and what key it was. It extends the scripting language to allow us to do things with scripts that we simply coudn't do otherwise. I hope that makes sense.
