HeyYou
seriously what are they? how do you gain/ lose them? why cant i find anything about them on the site? and why does Bethesda have the most irritating website to navigate?Should be asking this on beths site. :) I think when folks 'like' your posts, it increments your "rep". iXenite
I didn't even know that their site had a reputation system. I rarely go there due to the horrible design of the site. Either way, I guess I learned something today. Is there any benefit to having a higher reputation on their site?
DoctorKaizeld
That's what I want to know, i keep seing it but have no idea what it means. I know i have a 3 because i finally found my public profile (cant figure how to find it again as the normal way to do it on every other website by clicking your name only gives you account settings) but i dont get how i have 3 points or if i gained or lost them. I currently have 8 mods on there with 7 of them having 5 stars and the 8th having no means of download for whatever reason. So clearly that isnt involved. HeyYou
So far as I know, the reputation there is absolutely meaningless. It only displays on some hard-to-find page, that most folks will never see.... Personally, I think it is a holdover from the original design, and they just haven't been bothered enough to remove it yet.

montky
as I understand it,"Beth-Rep" is like gamerscore etc;it is a way to discern and reward folks that are loyal to Beth and Zenimax, and to encourage them to contribute more original content. the easiest way to get massive amounts of BethRep, is to make original mods on Bethnet, and to contribute on their forums and spaces.to attend the beth events at gaming expos and all. It's one of those "PR Marketing"/ "viral advertising" type things Marketing and PR has hatched. Some gaming establishments in AUS, Japan, germany and korea, are considering having 'ViP' sections in their bars which are on the basis of Gamerscore to enter;as is presently the practice in some clubs in China, India, Japan etc, which vet entry by score in 2ndLife or Xen etc.not to mention, facebook, twitster-insta-gram and other 'social media based speed-dating ponzi meetups"(which is a neat thing for gamer bars etc)this "discernment" is an interesting hypothetical to consider...it could be a use - intentional or otherwise - of these stratified systems... I digress;at certain milestones of 'bethrep',users are pleasantly surprised with;better beth tv access, access to other parts of the forums, and at monumentous milestones, a beth certificate and partial discount of beth merch from the beth store;(cue Yoghurt in spacebawls "Merchandizing!") for fallout FORPG and tabletop fans, that last part is a huge incentive alone!5% off or so on beth merch at milestone? neat!invites to the pro-leagues and events may also be based on bethrep etc.I had heard talk of 'collector pins' being sent at truly monumentous milestones, though that source is unreliable. other speculation is, Bethrep will be a way to group clusters offans, for a possible online feature;ie, it will go not only off your Beth-Rep, but your KtD and your "difficulty rating" etc, your entire Beth user metadata profile, as it wereso that, if there are in the future Bethesda games that are online and MMO etc, they can more streamline and 'tailor the experience for you',so, that you have more fun and less random "WtF?!" griefing moments. -----I think Beth-Rep is here to stay, and we will see what it becomes in the fullness of time.Beth-Rep is awesome, and is not a 'corporate scrip' as some folks have already decried it.is it a partial incentive in an outsourcing that user-made content can be, potentially, but again, Beth is ethical in a lot of ways and wouldn't do that.Beth-Rep is another part of how we'll see collabs happen. I don't mind if my bethrep is not necessarily reflecting of my collabs elsewhere, and I don't think it will impede my ability to continue collab'ing with modders at beth or elsewhere hehe.though some amnesty/RPL process would be nice to convert the work you did elsewhere elsewhen into bethrep points.
