xJaegermeifter
Now i know the main selling points. Skyrim Original- Has way more mod options. More unstable compared to SE. Has SKSE. 32 bit. But in the end, can look far far far better, and you can do WAY more in terms of animations, UI, etc. Skyrim Special Edition- Less mods, but WAY more stable game. 64 Bit. Doesnt have SKSE, and can only use an old style of Skyui. The "base" version of it, already has some light and texture upgrades over the original skyrim. To me, it seems like still modding Original is better than SE in nearly every department, especially if you want GAMEPLAY and animation changing mods, especially more so, if there are scripts involved. But if your just wanting to make a vanilla game with textures/models changed, then SE is the way to go. Whats yalls thought on what i should do? Or have i practically answered myself, Which one is better to mod on?
DoctorKaizeld
SE is superior in every way. the only issue is it doesnt have SKSE which is preventing a lot of Oldrim mods from being ported. once that is released there will be really no real reason to use Oldrim. RopeSander
SE will one day be a shinning reality. I would advise any to get it ASAP, personally I do not have it as I currently have eaten up half of a 1TB hard drive with the Original Skyrim's mod treasures, and I plan to eventually buy a better PC to play and install SE on it... my hope is that there will be a well substantiated amount of mods for SE by then as well as SKSE for it. People will still continue to mod the Original Skyrim... but it's bright burning fires will dim. But it can't hurt to play it and build a decent character for preparation of new sexy mod goodies. One question I've wondered which I would be surprised if it has not already been posed/answered, is it possible to transfer Original Skyrim's saves to SE? And are they without conflict??? (Obviously a modded save will probably not be stable).

PoorlyAged
If you want mods for SE which are dependent on the script extender, you are going to have to wait for SKSE64; which is in the works. Just be aware that not all mods will be ported to SE even after SKSE64 is available. As for transferring "stuff" from Oldrim to SE, there are no options available and it is highly discouraged. Several have posted that the 32 bit data from Oldrim will crash or kill SE. So if your desire to recreate your Oldrim experience in SE, your only option is patience. As for me, I have uninstalled Oldrim and it's CK. I do not intend to go back. I will keep futzing with Fallout 4 until SE has more tools and services available for mod making. Mayarilana
In my opinion it's not really worth yet. As mentioned above, as long as SKSE for Skyrim SE isn't out yet, I have no reason to play that version. I have tried it already, but couldn't see much difference between the old release including many graphics mods and the special edition. Also I figured the SE seems to need way more resources. While I can play the old version at the maximum plus many mods, I only can play the SE on medium quality, which results that the game all in one looks worse. I personally wait one or two more years until SKSE for SE is done. Edited June 26, 2017 by Mayarilana
VillyP
So I have the same question as well. All I want to do is play this game in full beauty with minor gameplay mods. Mainly I want a BEAUTIFUL world with BEAUTIFUL armor and weapons. I have an ASUS ROG laptop model GL552VI'm not sure what specs are important but it has:12Gigs RAM1TB harddriveNvidia Geforce GTX 960mIntel i7 processor I'm not sure which version of the game to get. I just want a beautiful game that will let me run it at a smooth 60+ FPS. Which should I get and what mods would be good for this?I won't add really that many mods I feel like, just the basic important ones.
