DZmaster
I'd like to lock doors, because it would be pretty funny to lock a scuadron of guards prsuing you to your house(or somewhere else). I think it could be done by activating doors in sneak mode(of course, you need the key). The strenght of the lock should be equal to your security skill. I have no idea how it should be done. stephanie
I'm not totally sure, but I think the Guards will find a way in if they're pursuing you. There's a console command .. 'Lock nn' where nn is 1 to 100. You might do script and make it into a "Lock" spell. I don't script much so someone else would need to show you that. You might look thru the magic effects in the cs, too. there may already be a 'lock' spell available. :)
WoogieMonster
Stephanie is correct on both issues. You can purchase a lock spell from the mage's guild and you can use an alter to boost it up to "create master lock." However, if guards are chasing you and you lock a door behind you during the pursuit, they will still get in. Weird thing is, if you defeat them and try to leave the room, the door will still be locked.
stephanie
Thank you Woogie .. I wasn't sure about 'lock' since I don't use it at all. I do have a spell I made called "Open Any Lock" that I use cuz I always either break all my lockpicks, or don't have any with me. It makes wandering around a dungeon easier .. until I run into the one that says "You can't open this lock. You must have the Key." (then I use 'tcl' and just walk thru it ... TCL to do this can be risky and tricky, there is a somewhat easier way that is pointing the target and saying the magical word 'unlock' :) yet this too can break quests if you are not supposed to be there at the time. Storm Raven
I have certainly experienced problems with TCL but the message 'you must have a key to unlock this door' is a dead giveaway that for whatever reason it's better not to try to override the lock. CTD's can occur! As most outside doors transport you to another cell TCL is useless in those cases anyway. Storm Raven
stephanie
I know .. If I mess it up really really bad .. I just start a new game. The tcl command gets me out of trouble more often than it gets me into trouble .. I get stuck sometimes when I'm in an Oblivion gate world and the only way out is to set collision off so I can climb out of whatever trap I got myself into. The same thing can happen almost anywhere, so it's good to know how to use it. I've only run into 3-4 doors that are quest related, 'need a key', and also transport to a different cell. Those will not respond to an unlock spell, the 'unlock' console command, or anything else because the script in the quest prevents them opening until you have the key or whatever else is needed. (you need to be at the proper stage of the quest before the door will open for you). If I accidentally break a quest, I use getstage and setstage to get me back on track in the quest ... as long as I can find the questid in the wiki ... :)

Alaisiagae
There are already some mods that add lock spells. Nic-V made a mod where you can lock your player-owned homes.
stephanie
I looked it up. Wiki says that "Penelope Charmosa" is a brazilian porteguese version of the Hanna Barbera cartoon "Penelope Pitstop" that premiered on CBS on September 13, 1969. The show lasted one season, with 17 half-hour episodes produced. It can still be watched on the Cartoon Network. There is also a 'gutter film' actress that uses the name "Penelope Charmosa". She has a pay-by the minute website. (I wonder why ...) I'm more like the Hanna-Barbera version .. a little helpless sometimes, gets into trouble, needs help doing nothing ... Lol. 'Steph Charmosa' was here! *giggles*
