neat. pics kinda cool as well.

kinda left it out myself in the original post as i was called away but here's mine:

First Lieutenant Kast Varrick US Army Spec Ops, Intelligence officer (was placed in a desk job after a tour in Alaska where she suffered several injuries to her left arm and leg) image

Originally from Sanctuary living next to her boring neighbors Nate and Nora *insertlastnamehere* when she was called and told to report to Fort Devens for reassignment. Upon arrival she was sent through medical testing along with various others from a wide range a military branches and departments. At the end of the tests each subject was given a shot and shortly after fell unconscious. When Kast woke she found herself in an underground facility in a cryo unit along with the others. Using the emergency release inside the pod she got out and found a majority of the pods had failed due to various reasons but most notably many died due to lack of care taken in the defrosting stages. 5 other pods contained living beings but she couldn't reach them as a locked door was in the way and she had no means of opening it. Looking through various terminals and files in the facility gave her some insight as to what had happened, covering the bombs and some military branch she had never heard of called the Enclave being responsible for her being placed in the pod.

Leaving the base she herself in post apocalyptic Boston. One thing led to another and she found herself helping some dude with a flashlight laser musket setup a town around the remains of her house.... awkward. After helping Preston with his minutemany things and doing a bunch of good hard work (read: all of it) she was offered the title of General, she said screw that and just retook her old title of First Lieutenant. Though due to there only being seven official minutemen at this point and none of them having an equal or higher rank she still was in charge (dang it!). stuff happens and Kast reclaimed the Castle from Mr. Krabs and in the process screwed up her arm requiring it to be amputated from the elbow down and replaced with a synth arm Struges had lying around for some reason. Also found some synth duplicates clones of herself and uses them to get out of doing stuff Preston keeps asking her to do.

Sprint forward a few months and Kast losses her vision during a firefight with minutemen turned rebels raiders where a flashlight laser rifle blew up in another minutemans arms burning her retinas leaving her mostly blind. Later she replaced them with cybernetic synth eyes that Sturges also for whatever reason had sitting around but continues to wear a blindfold as the eyes are able to see through it and it throws people off as they all think she is blind.

I am legion because I can't just play one character but experience different aspects of the game through different characters( actually I've got seven total but the point remains. In Skyrim I have tene because I came up with more significant , to me, variations )

I've got the guy good war hero minuteman. His settlements are like military camps

Next the commando minutewoman feels like she's the mom to all her people I build individual homes for settlers when I can and assure both their safety and quality of life.

Then I have Tony Stark in the commonwealth keeping everyone safe

Geeky scientist type whose fallen in with the BOS

less geeky scientist who woke up to find herself objectively superhuman ( maxed out EN and took lifegiver, solar powered etc) didn't join Minutemen

Embittered revenge driven soldier not really caring about anyone else

Mercenary Sniper just trying to survive and have a wild time because the still night are too much for her to bear.

Somebody will end up with the railroad eventually and maybe the institute. They often choose their own fate.

Papa Rotzi : He's a ghoul reporter. A paparazzi. I made him a pistol that fires like a junk jet. And it's full of Cameras and Newspapers as ammo. With a split barrel. So every shot is like five cameras and Newspapers at a time. And the legendary effect is Staggering. Because that's funny.

I just went ahead and gave him 5000 cameras and Newspapers. He sells any he picks up, gotta make a living somehow.

Another character i quite enjoy is UB-2. A synth that's all about the institute. She was given the false memory sequence at the start of the game, of prewar Sanctuary. And... she liked it. She loved prewar Sanctuary. It was clean and orderly. Mostly clean. She hates germs. This apocalypse is disgusting. She only eats prewar food. And totally agrees with X6-88 that the surface world should die out.

She wants to burn it all down, so she uses a wide variety of flamers. Which is hilarious, because it means she has to get really close to kill things. Which means she's likely to get touched. Which means germs.

Its really not going through characters since I'm playing them all at the same time but cool.

Got several characters on the go. Bút only one of them has a background story. Joe Gallagher hailing from Laughlin - Nevada. Met a Boston legal trainee in Vegas and moved with her to Boston. As a LtCol in the Marine Corps he was discharged with full honors pending a disastrous attack on a meat packing plant in Anchorage.

I tried to recreate my Mojave courier. But a 62 year old desert rat didn't really fit in this reality so................

there's some neat ideas in this thread;

they'd be awesome for ambient quests hehe.

(papa-rotzi indeed hehe awesome)

it reminds me of those "FO:Bible" threads,

FORPG and GURPS boards,

and other folks sharing their perspectives on Fallout Lore.

----

a few NPCs and player characters from FO4 and FORPG are below.

spoiler warning: there are 6 synopses/exegesis' in the following partition.

for reading-averse persons, discretion is advised.

Panacea Fullbrecht is the primary 'lawful good'/'BoS' character I roleplay in FO4

and FORPG tabletop set in east coast.

She was an international law scholar, who had done many things pre-war.

primarily, looking after Canadians and Asianic-Americans from some treatment in the 2060s...

A cook, a P.A. in the Mayor's Office , moonlight at a department store.

that's how Pan has a winning attitude and is a leader post2077.

her partner, Amelaea, saw conflict at Anchorage. they were pro-self-defense

they had a small adopted family,

and were considering having a biological descendant from GeneTek.

If fullbrecht is a familiar sounding surname, a relative may have been present at Mariposa

and part of the "Society of Steele". Pan herself might have been originally in the society of steele,

or at least aware of the grassroots branch.

that's not how Pan earned their field commission as an Initiate in the BoS circa 2280s though...

ah, but that's another story.

another go-to character, "lawful neutral" -

I reprised Kookamungas in FO4, having previously played this character in FONV and NCR-related FORPG.

kookamungas is half-Ghanian, half-Chinese american.

Kookamungas was in FONV, and is what some might consider a 'mutant' (explaining how they survived benny's botched hit).

Kookamungas might happen to be in boston, prior to Mr House's arrival...

Kookamungas, is from the frontier town of Cucamongas, California in the NCR.

in Fallout alt-verse, Cucamongas became an auxiliary AFB after Edwards was found too geologically unstable for fixed-wing etc.

Cucamongas AFB was directly hit in 2077. USAF:SC and GSC had training suites there, but Cucamongas was mainly sVTOL and 'vertibirds'.

ARPA's stuff was at Edwards and at Mesa Verde, Colorado.

suffice it to say, Cucamongas is Enclave turf for a long time,

so many locals learn to stay out of the Enclave's way, and harbor deep resentment towards the Enclave.

I'm yet to make a more concrete "evil - Enclave" character.

I'm thinking someone resembling Billy Zane, Robert Duncan McNeill or Thomas F Wilson...

there's then also

Evil - Raider: "Jackal", a chem-addict with a penchant for melee weapons and a past in the "Dangerzone arena".

Jackal bears a striking resemblance to Robbie Williams.

Ol' Snazwodger the Hoodwinkler (a resemblance with a likeness to Russel Brand)

Snazwodge is a trader seen about the commonwealth,

and a conveyor of informations arcane and critical to plot developments

if you have the caps.

for some reason, people keep mistaking snaz for 'arthur'...

not to mention, a mobile store filled with bibs and bobs and shtuff of a generally scrap-like nature.

stuff is always coming and going, business is always booming.

He also publishes a rag "the trews", and collects "Wastelanders Guides".

he's been a guest lecturer at several "Books of the Wasteland".

Snaz is also a mean card player, and has connections to Ghoul City in the glowing wastes.

if something is "Snazzy", it doesn't just mean it looks fancy or interesting,

it means Snazwodger would take an interest in it.

Lawful Neutral

Lil' Betsy Davis - a little person with a facial resemblance of Rosie O'Donnell, from Diamond City.

Betsy helped some mutants and ghouls escape after that Mayor incident...

the player protagonist runs into Betsy in diamond city.

she's looking for her kids too, Betsy Davis believes the Institute abducted her kids,

and she knows some secrets of the UnderBoston.

Where Pan is more fortunate, having found "the Father" and later, reviving V111 from V112,

Lil Betsy learns that her descendants died in making synths possible.

Betsy hates synths. refuses to set foot in anything Institute related.

Arthur Cresley;

a synth, with a resemblance to Jude Law, tasked with monitoring the glowing wastes.

Arthur stumbles upon an Enclave redoubt, and tries to track their activity in Natick and out in the wastes.

Arthur is also trying to find Virgil, though rad storms cause him interference.

synths experience violent interruptions, uncontrolled involuntary movement then blackouts if exposed directly to rad-storms.

(this was partly how settlers prior had tried to discern who might be a synth)

it always bugged me; if the head of the SRB can personally go to rivet city to chase down 1 lowly synth,

the Institute can throw a lot more at finding someone as dangerous as Virgil

In order to disguise his synth nature near rad storms, Arthur claims he is diabetic or suffers rad-seizures

and secludes himself (in something of a misdirect, leading some to think perhaps he is a rad-wolf/rad-mutant)

the jig is up however when people realize he never seems to eat.

Arthur either makes the discoverer go away, or moves on...

Arthur can be spared, and join the Railroad or BoS.

Deacon is never sure which side Arthur is on though.

I have to confess;

FORPG pen-and-paper is a lot of fun, with the miniatures

so, I'm an FORPG addict from way back hehe.

so, a lot of the inspiration originates from the Lead-Adventure boards on that,

as well as Beth boards on FORPG.

FORPG is much more interesting than GURPS,

though, there's a conversion table out there for GURPS players.
