Playing the Main Quest: Nerevar Reincarnated

Wrong, wrong, wrong AND WRONG!

Lord Nerevar was NOT Dunmer, he was a Chimer, he had gold skin not blue. The Chimer BECAME the Dunmer by way of a curse that was put on them from Azura due to the treachery by the Tribunal at Red Mountain. :P

Now actaully making the transformation to a Chimer after you succeed at the main quest would be rather impressive.

That gets me thinking though, doesn't Vivec's skin look kinda goldish to you all? I know he has some tattoos or markings but other than that he kinda fits a Chimer description. I haven't read nearly as many of the books as I would have liked, is this described somewhere? If so could you point me to the source?

Darmoth, of course I remembered that Nerevar was Chimer; but the closest thing to a Chimer would be a Dunmer, wouldn't you say?

Vivec seems to be completely Dunmer (and I don't recal him having any tattoos, Almalexia sure does!); it's the fact that his character wasn't just a randomly generated butt-ugly graphic form that threw me off at first as well. :D Sotha Sil looks like something between a Dunmer and Chimer; and Almalexia is, as can be seen, completely Chimer. But apart from appearances I have no evidence for those opinions..

But that sounds like an intriguing article Darmoth. Do you recall where you found it?

(And any extra info on the Dwemer, i.e. info not found in-game or in the 'Dwemer!' thread, is also welcome! ;))

Vivec's tattoos are more just markings. It's been a while since I've seen him but from what I recall he has some blue painting or something on his face.

Almalexia deffinitely looked Chimer to me the first time I saw her. Also do you think that armor of hers could be what the Chimer used to wear into battle? One part of it (the right pauldron) resembles the Indoril style. Anyone think there might be a connection there with Chimer armor craftsmanship and Indoril?

...

Vivec seems to be completely Dunmer

...

Actually, have you looked at him recently? From memory I would have said he was too but I went to see him again recently and lo and behold! He's actually half and half. One side is bluey-black Dunmer and the other is yellow Chimer. :P

As for the armour, I reckon it was some sort of other armour originally, but got distorted into the "divine" status when they ascended :P I remember one of them (I think Vivec) has a bracer on, it looks like Bonemold but it's partially distorted into ornate patterns. So I reckon the armour they were wearing at the time was sort of distorted and rearranged when they manipulated the heart.

Just a theory :P
