validate your steam install

haha do you not believe me that my copy is legit?

its a steam function to repair damaged files

ok so how do i do this?

Everyone else has swap ammo defaulted to 2, not 0. You and your friend are the only ones. Figure it out.

and that one person in the thread i quoted :P

however, no need to be rude. if you have nothing to add to this, please dont bother posting. at least Fonger is giving me his time and trying to help.

I think Fonger's talking about the "validate game cache" thing. Just go to your steam games library, right click on FONV, then click "properties" and go to your "game files" tab. Click the "validate game cache" (or something like that). Although, weird as it sounds, quite often you can do this over and over and the result of the validation will show that 1 file was missing and will be reacquired. (I've seen the "all files successfully validated" message, but very, very, rarely.) Dunno what that's all about, but upshot is that, imo,if you get the "1 files missing..." thing, it's about as good as it gets.

k i did that, but it didnt solve anything

but i give up. not only is it not a big deal, but im frustrated with this game atm. i just got ambushed by the Legion, and my guns do absolutely s*** to them with their armor and whatnot (even with AP rounds, i do crap) so there is no way out of it without my companion dieing and im not sure if i can even get out of it. im on hardcore mode, so healing mid battle does almost nothing. headshots do absolutely nothing. very annoying, so im done with the game for now.
