A Pulse Jet is a simple but effective way to propel anything through the air. It's a U shaped tube with a combustion chamber, flamable fuel, usualy propane, is pumped in, the ingited, just like in your car's engine. Now, what's clever about them is that they have virtualy no moving parts. This means it's possible to make them either very big or very small, all you need is the combustion chamber, fuel pump, ingition, and the all important U shaped pipe, which acts as the thrust nozzle. I, today, saw a remote control aeroplane that had a Pulse Jet, made from Remote Control car exhausts/fuel pumps flying around, it was going bloody fast too, made me smile.
