WoogieMonster
Copied from Aoikani's thread. I am sorry you have had to tolerate such behavior. I'm not a modder, but I do consider myself pretty good at fixing problems when people can't get an install to function correctly. So in your honor and in hopes that you'll both continue to mod, I am adopting a new policy: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=444661 It's all I can do to show my respect and support for you both and for all modders. I wish I could do more. -Woogie
Aoikani
Lhammond: I've also seen people create multiple accounts in order to down-rate other mods and try to artificially inflate their own. This is exactly what I think I was victim of!
Appollo1
From the other thread as this seems to be the main one on the topic I am brand new here but not to gaming as I have been around since the 90's mainly in flight & sub sims and have seen this before. The conclusion I have come to is we the silent majority need to speak up in support of those who give their time freely to better enhance our game of choice, if we see attacks on one of the modders then speak out in support of the modder and report the idiot who is attacking. The modders are the life blood of a game as it is them that extend the life of a game by allowing us the gamer to experiance new stuff keep the thrill going and we need to give support back as a token of thanks, but at the same time we also should be allowed to point out any faults in the mod in a effort to further enhance the mod, the devil is in the details - we need to be polite and clear on the suggestions as the written word on a forum can be misinterprated easily especialy if it is read by a non native english speaker who does not see your face to know you meant no offense in what you wrote. It ebbs and flows, great modders come and go and if the community is strong and well moderated then others will come and fill the spot left but if the community keeps turning on it self then it will die and everyone will move on to something else, I did as I used to love a certian flight sim but due to the stand over tatics of a group of central modders who thought they had the right to bully all who questioned them I left. These are the thoughts of someone who has never played Oblivin or Morrowind and is sad to read this upon coming to a new community. It is very confusing as a brand new guy as the amount of mods and different things has lead to more than a few frustrated choice words at the computer but I would never come back and vent at the modders as I know that the fault is more than likely in the way I am trying to install it and I just need to read up a bit and work the problem, and to tell the truth I actually get enjoyment out of solving the problem and getting the mod to work, wierd but true. from the deep pits of oblivion
(off-topic)LHammonds, can you make a rule like "You can't report unless you have said why. If you report, you must say why did you report this".I'm not sure if this is a language barrier thing but I don't understand why I would make a rule to that effect...oh...you are talking about "rating"...not "reporting"hey im not english and i was studying ıf condintonals while i was writing. Yes i accept its mostly academicalim talking about when you press the report button a small box comes out writing "why did you report this file?" and you can just say "flames" etc. not to add extra work on you but it can stop useless reporting because you have to check the comment before deleting
LHammonds
hey im not english and i was studying ıf condintonals while i was writing. Yes i accept its mostly academicalim talking about when you press the report button a small box comes out writing "why did you report this file?" and you can just say "flames" etc. not to add extra work on you but it can stop useless reporting because you have to check the comment before deletingThe issue is not with too many reports...it's actually not enough. Nobody should feel bad about clicking the report button. If we get to the point that we cannot handle the influx of reports, we simply "hire" more people to handle them. Most reports are handled within 24 hours of them being reported. The slowest time we've had in response to reports was around the time that AlienSlof withdrew from the community (Dark0ne was busy with school, Buddah was on vacation and I simply did not see it until the next day after work). So please use the report button when necessary. If you are not sure if somebody is breaking the rules, take a look at the forum rules to get a good idea as to what is not acceptable. Also, don't worry about duplicate reports. Even if we had 10 reports in our queue it doesn't take 10 extra seconds to close them all at once after the issue is resolved. ;) If you are on the forums, you will have a visual indicator that the comment was already reported on because the REPORT button will look visually different from the rest of the buttons. If you repeatedly make reports that are not warranted, we will inform you but this would be a little more than an extremely rare situation as most people that report are usually level-headed and correct in their appraisal of the situation. Thanks,LHammonds
buddah
What needs to be stated clearly, there are few moderators......many posts, we are unable to read them all, anyone can report any post or comment/rating that is offensive. Almost everyone here plays by the rules, but there are a disruptive few that think the rules are not enforced or believe that no one will report them, or worst case - they don't apply to me because I am someone special. Well trust me they are wrong on both counts, if your first post sets a bad example it may also be your last. However someone who has made many quality constructive posts and has a lapse in judgment will get a warning or a strike, the ban is a last resort and I still hate doing it but the smooth operations of the site are paramount to the staff. Take some time and look at the staff page, we are indeed few: http://tesnexus.com/staff.php Please no matter how far you are pushed, don't respond just report.....we will take what action is appropriate. Tamujiin
Seems to me, that in a mostly high school age group here at the nexus, there is alot of homophopbia. So i am gonna say this. Is it okay for a million women to look at me naked and rate me a perfect 10, then one man looks at me and rates me a zero, because he can see my penis? In actual Fantasy, i mean real hardcore fantasy, seeing that part of the body is no big deal. To you wee little people who think you can flame people away, all you do when you do that is show 3 things, 1). Not comfortable with yourself or your sexuality. 2) that you are immature. 3). That you dont know how to read and follow directions. Many times has it been posted to look away if you dont want to see a mod. Don't go looking for trouble here, dont try to flame a modder for any reason, be nice, be cool, or be reported. And if you see something you really feel should be reported, please report it to the moderators. And for those of you who appreciate what i said earlier you are welcome, slof makes some good mods, that are compatible with most others, she is a reliable mod maker, ( i would suggest giving here a request now and then, but please go to her website and read there what she would expect.) and i would just like to say..................... Good Job slof, and thank you to those who do appreciate your great work, and for sharing your time with us. And wish to see some new work from you soon. Aoikani
Good Job slof, and thank you to those who do appreciate your great work, and for sharing your time with us. And wish to see some new work from you soon. here! here! I couldn't say it any better. Except, I know how it feels too. Sucks! .. and it hurts, not the flames. The decision to remove your work because a lack of appreciation or simply a lot of disambiguation. No, both. But, I know we will see new work from you, because I got a secret :) and you'll be appreciated! Aoikani
AlienSlof
Yeah, got lots of new stuff planning out in my head! New horse packs, new man armour - oh, all sorts of good stuff. Now I can make my own meshes, the world has opened up some! Gonna take me a little time as I'm probably the world's slowest noob modeller!
Glue
Its good to hear you're still driven to keep modding Slof and look forward to seeing what you will make next. Wow! If you feel and say you're a noob at anything mod related on these forums its a testament to your humility and modesty and makes me respect what you're about all the more. Its been a sad thing to read about all this BS surrounding you lately. Your horses were the first mod I ever added to my Oblivion way back when. Thanks for everything. And always remember, its the empty vessels that make the most noise. (..except when they're full of crap).
