I've been having trouble trying to get this mesh to work. I was wondering if any1 could enlighten me to what as I'm doing wrong. Here's a picture of how it looks inside CK. Also, I've attached the .nif if you need to look at it some more.http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/3973/74991466.pngMy linkMy link Edited by needsaname

Either you have flipped normals (your polygons are being textured on the inside of the item) which can be fixed in NifSkope through the spells.

Or, you haven't created a normal map. Normal maps tell the game how your object refracts light and without one you'd get a solid black object. These belong in the same folder as the main texture, and share the same name only they typically end with "_n.dds".

Well without checking it ingame i see this possible error, as already mentioned:

The item is displayed as a grey shape in NifSkope, this is normally the case when the normals are heading into the wrong direction.

Open the sword block, NiTriShape (1stpersonDaedricDagger:0[11]), right click NiTriShapeData, FACE NORMALS, after that in the Block Details (bottom window) set the NUM UV SETS from 0 to 4097, Menu SPELLS=>BATCH=>UPDATE.

I cant seem to fix it myself. Flipping normals just makes the entire thing black but the base above the grip seems to be texturing and showing up normally when I use a base texture only. I'm an uber noob but I've gotten about 20 weapons into the game using
.
