NIcely done there. Would love to see it in action :).

 

PS. Some castle room ideas.

Torture room, could make it an hidden room in the castle, locked away cause of all the pain and suffering happened there with a quest about tormented spirits.

Training Room, where you attack some dummies, or personnally spar with your guards

 

Quest ideas:

Find a suitable partner. In medieval times a lord needed spouse so the ppl believed there'd be a succesfull follow up.

A new kind of random quest idea. (get x goods for vendor Y)

Set up trade routes, not visibly needed, but will give vendors more exotic goods and variety.

The castle needs to be cleansed of all evil, once you have that cathedral, the cleric can mention it, and he'll become your follower.

 

Just something like you don't get a ready to go castle with town, just by doing a quest. The town should give a growth idea. Like ruined structures being renovated which then ppl will start to live in. Huge battles have been fought there.

 

And something probably you have covered yourself already here. A unique shield should be in the castle. Wielded by of course an undead spirit.

 

Also a quest idea: A simple quest to take a bard follower from the bard's guild. In which you get the quest to fight something big, so he can sing about it, once you get back in the castle, the bard will start to live in town then. Boasting morality in town.

 

Just some ideas, which sound nice. But I like what you already got, and probably got some other nice ideas planned yourself.

my 2 cents, add factions to the town.

(ie; thieves guild HQ above ground, brothel, bank, mercenaries**not companions, assassins guild different from the dark brotherhood)

Take your time and never rush this people are currently working on economy mods. The idea i have plus that will definitely make this mod Godlike.

 

and please add a touch of originality to factions.

i got a bit of bad news and it could effect my mod. i only really have 2 and a half months to complete this as i got news that i would be returning early. for those of you who do not know, im currently deployed in Afghanistan and i am using my time off to put this mod together as it has become a hobby of mine. originally i had about 5 months left but got news i would be returning early. although that is great news, it puts a damper on my work with this mod. once i return home i have a wife and kid that become my primary concern and will not have time for this mod.

 

so reluctant to say, i will continue the work until i leave but it looks this will be an all out house mod instead of a major quest that i had wanted. there will still be a small quest to obtain ownership but that will be all. my hopes and dreams for my storyline will not become a reality unfortunately. it is only myself putting this mod together, will a bit of help from people here and there but they are not full time. if i had more help i could make this possible in the time i have. some ideas posted may never make it into the final copy.

 

I am currently working on the arboretum and once complete with that move to the exterior. once i have that complete it should be ready for beta and finally release. it has come a long way and i hope to be able to complete it for all to share. i thank all for your patience.

hmm nice to hear that you can get back home earlier to your family and kid. stay safe and take care!

well for the mod: when you have the feeling the mod is ready to be released as housemod , then do so.

when you find some time do the quest later.

just make sure that a wonderful mod like this with that much progress doesnt get lost!

The arboretum has been completed, still needs some navmeshing as some was imported. it is a vast cavernous area with multiple levels and no mere words can describe the effort and work that i put into it. it features a farm that will have flora that the player can crop and the whole cell itself should reset upon exiting it. it also has wildlife to an extent that fits the local flora atmosphere. there is a swimming pool on the lower level which will be added to in later patches. there are also other areas of it that have mass amounts of flora and ingredients for the player to pluck that are outside of the farm. it also mimicks some of the areas and regions in skyrim, as such to fit the dwemer storyline a bit as a preserve for certain habitats. it does not have all though as not all of them could fit in as an interior (such as the volcanic regions of eastmarch or the snowy mountains of winterhold).

 

all in all, it provides a breathtaking view and a sort of interior garden for the castle. I still need to work on putting it in to connect to the rest of the castle then i will work on creating the castle mine then onto the exterior.
