An update on the current situation if you have been reading the forums on the issue with my mod. I have... found a workaround i guess you can say. I cannot say it is a fix because a fix would be finding the issue that is causing my game to crash with my esp. Everything seems to point to a faulty creation kit but i am not one to point fingers as there quite possibly could be an issue that is being masked in the esp.

In any case, I turned my mod into an ESM and it got rid of the problem completely. There was a lot of other things i went through and you can read the forums posts listed below, but it works. But it came with further issues i am going to have to investigate. the tamriel worldspace is a beastly animal and it seems beth has made it where it doesnt like being messed with. With my mod in esm format, all the landscape edits i made to the tamriel worldspace are gone. trees i moved or deleted are in their original spots or back. objects i deleted previously are back. It will take a me prollie a good week to recreate the same edits i did that cover not only the roads but the are asurrounding the castle.

So this is my current concern and issue will keep everyone posted.

Re: Quest

It's a long 'quest' chain filled with puzzles mystery and adventure, but... there are 0 quests it's all notes and in world things (100x easier to think up and to put in game). I link in hope you may get some inspiration from it, as I have for some of my mods. Implementing real quests, especially in the age of required voicing, is tough and can sap your motivation real fast (If you don't believe me, you probably haven't tried making any good sized quests). I voted for the two quest option with the thought that that means you're more likely to finish the real(castle) part, and if you get frustrated with the quest and stop, at least the castle will be out. I suggest making an extremely simple 'quest' that works 100% (probably with nothing but a note or two, maybe an NPC to kill, and a key), then expanding it to work fully at each step, so if you ever lose interest, there's something complete there. Basically don't design something you don't KNOW you can finish in a couple hours. Every time you add a little complexity after that, you will have a complete quest. Then you add some more, and again, you have a better, complete quest.

I like to throw in whatever insight I can when a project looks looks like something worth having. So here you go. Oh and I hop your computer can L2Notsuck.

Unfortunately I havent been able to work on the mod. The crash issue has been really causing some drastic issues with my mod being able to be released. On the nexus forums, Grindstone has been trying to help to find out what is the problem and him and myself have been banging our heads to figure it out. The thing is, as long as it is a mod file it crashes. if its a master file the crash isnt there - but neither are any changes, deletions, or alterations i have made such as landscape edits. I really do not know where to go with this but other than start from scratch and that botches the whole mod. So until the crash issue is dealt with i cannot continue. if anyone has any ideas the help, i am all ears.

Edit: I will continue to try to find a way for my mod to be playable. Help is still needed.

SO here is an idea i am going to work with and i will let everyone know if it works.

We know my mod works as an ESM but the landscapes, edits and deletes dont persist. this only tells me the issue with the mod file is due to some change, deletion or alteration.

We know that my mod doesnt work entirely as an esp file, causing the game to crash.

SO what i plan on doing, is keeping my main mod as an ESM. all the additions to the game such as statics, new interiors, new worldspaces, additions to tamriel will be in the ESM.

all the modifications such as removals, landscape edits, alterations etc. will be in the esp file. i will let everyone know how this idea goes.

its not my computer, apparently its my modding skills that need to L2Notsuck. but in any case i am going to work around it.

As far as your questing idea, it looks great and i know what you are going after. because of my current situation i am not putting 100% effort towards the quest right now. i can tell you though when and if i get this working the quest may be broken up into two: any easy quest that can be done and completed, utilizing your idea above and then a complex quest that will test my modding abilities.

IT WORKS!!!! exactly what i did above works. with esm and esp loaded it all works! i am going to continue with working on the mod :)

hell yeah! can't wait!

oh btw i also thought a mod i installed causes crashes but later i found out that bugs bake into your savegame if you have many mods installed and uninstalled in your save. oblivion didnt have the problem, skyrim unfortunately does -.- have to start playing all over again. boss and wrye bash didnt change anything. so sometimes just test your mod with a new charakter(if u havent tried out already). well i am very unexpreienced in modding, so sorry if this idea is nonsense :) just wanted to let you know that savegame corruption and ctds are common issues and bake into your savegame :)

keep up the awesome work !
