Paxxis
Hey all. Been modding FO4 (as in, using mods, not making them) for some time now. Have a lot of texture replacers, weapon mods, etc. However, despite having a graphics card with 4GB of memory available (all drivers up to date), I have a problem. Despite the random crashes I experience, which can be annoying, but I can live with it, I added a couple texture mods yesterday, and now the game won't load. I removed them, and it still won't load. I suppose I could reverify the files, but then I would have to go back through all of my mods, and reload them all, which is a major pain in the backside. Was wondering if anyone might have any other suggestions before I go this route. Thanks in advance!
iXenite
You probably want to post this in the Fallout 4 Technical Support board. It's not too likely that its the graphics mods that are causing your game to CTD. It's most likely something else in your load order. If the game will not load - it means one of your mods is missing a Master File. In other words, one of the mods you're using relies on another mod or one of the official plugins that you do not have. Comb through your load order, mod page by mod page, and make sure you have all of the requirements. I suggest starting with your most recently downloaded mods. You can find out what those are by clicking on "Download History" under the files tab on the Nexus Mods side of the site. If you're on the Fallout 4 Nexus your Download History will be just Fallout 4 mods. I will link it in this post so you can get to it easier. Paxxis
I appreciate the help. The game was working fine until last night, and all I downloaded were texture replacers, which shouldn't have caused this. Ahh, well. Off to the tech board I go. Thanks again. Edited August 25, 2017 by Paxxis

Paxxis
I am hoping. Would like to actually play the game. LOL It's weird, because I would get random FPS drops, and the occasional CTD. But I could live with those, despite their annoyance. All I downloaded yesterday was 3 texture replacers, and now this. Odd. Hopefully someone can help over on the tech boards. Thanks again! sopmac45
When you add a new mod to your game is something not to be taken lightly. I learned today that for example ( this may not your case though ) that when you add a mod, you should sort it via LOOT or to place it manually within your load order according to the author's recommendation but ... if after placing your mod, especially if it is .esp mod, you change it to another place within your load order, the code of that mod will not be re-placed to its new place automatically and it will create a mess in your game. That is why the most experienced players and modders are recommending that once you star a new game and have your load order setup, do not touch it at all and if for any reason there is a mod that you want to delete because you do need it anymore, there is a safe way to do it rather than deactivate it and uninstall it. Watch the video tutorial located in War of the Commonwealth mod ( description section in the middle ) and you will see for yourself what I tried ( barely ) to explain to you.
