woody79
I tried mod out, it was't really what I was hoping for, and did the uninstall (step by step according to readme file on mod) But, NMM still shows two esp file plugins for that mod I deleted and don't want. I am fairly new to using mods and NMM, so please help me figure out how to remove the esp plugin showing on NMM. Can give more info if more is needed, but figure an expert out there can figure out what is going on and have some ideas on what to do. I really don't want a ton of esp plugins showing up on NMM for mods I try and delete. Thanks for any and all suggestions/fixes
nosisab
Something is wrong, NMM should only list ESPs actually existent in your /data folder. I understand you are talking about the "Plugins" tab, for the "Mods" tab shows only the 7z files which the game doesn't use. Anyway, "Disable" the mod first before deleting it, so the "actual" mod's files are deleted from the /data, including the ESP(s). Failing to follow the previous step actually leaves the mod still installed (all it's files, textures, meshes and so on), only the 7z file is gone, and then the ESP file is still there, PS: What I mean is, if you don't disable the mod before deleting it from the "Mods" tab, all you did was like deleting the 7z file the same way as the mod was installed "by hand", what mean the mod itself was not uninstalled at all (the 7z file means nothing to the game). And then, NMM does not affect the game by itself, it should not even be active after having done it's work that is "managing" the install, uninstall, changing load order... of mods. Failing to follow the previous step actually keep the mod still installed, only the 7z file is gone, and then the ESP file is still there, Well, the thing is when I tried to "download with manager" it got to 78% and would freeze saying unable to install mod. Tried this at least 3 times and got stuck at 78% complete when trying to d/l mod. So, I decided to try manual install (probably not smart being an extremely novice mod user). Did what read me said, extracted files to the skyrim folder. Opened NMM and noticed that the esp files were in the plugin tab, but no actual indication of the mod under the "mods" tab. I ran the game and definitely noticed the mod was working (armor mod, crafted some, didnt really like it so tried to uninstall) Those darn esp plugins are still there and have no idea how to get rid of them. I did as the readme said, deleting folders from meshes and armor. Ran game and mod no longer there (cant craft it, and got warning about some features no longer in use, do you wish to continue?) when loading game...So it appears mod is no longer active, but darn esp files still show on the NMM plugin tab. I can give more info if needed, just really need help figuring this out...THANKS for anyone who has suggestion of fix.
fms1
If you got the mod from SW and are still "subscribed" to it, when you go to play Skyrim it will redownload it and install it before loading your game. If so, "unsubscribe" to it from Steam Workshop, and remove it again, and all should be well.

gunabuse
happened to me, not using the NMM and using an alternative mod manager is the best way to solve this problem.
