fossmana
Steam seems like an interloper in my gaming experience. Steam is not doing anything that I could not do before. I installed a few Steam mods and my game froze. What is the point of this program that now controls every game that I put on my PC?
JimboUK
If you loaded mods up and it froze then chances are it's the mods, try disabling them and see what happens.
etang2
Yeah, i spent ages looking for a way as well, SKSE (SKYRIM SCRIPT EXTENDER) works perfectly, even when you need to update it works, it bypasses the steam mechanism. However, you have to download the version of SKSE for your version of Skyrim :D

Should note that steam pretty much is always active anyway fromt the moment you log on unless you kill the process... which leads to instability, don't do that. Grasmann
You could also use a crack, turning skyrim into a non-steam version.I guess if you really own the game there's no problem with that. But I won't provide any links regarding this XD. It's really annoying.
