But, i find that the file tab is a bit less efficient that the previous one. I think that it uses too much vertical space and not enough vertical space.
Here are 2 of the alternatives i've worked on that may be more efficient and ease for the eye/brain.
a) File display alternative A
b) File display alternative B
axonis wrote: I really like your (B) alternative. Makes the description easier to focus on.
pintocat wrote: B doesn't work for all, because some authors think the download description is where giant banner images should be, like this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73937
axonis wrote: @pintocat, why would that not work for them ? Their BBcode-based descriptions would still be properly displayed, only with a table of stats next to them. The new design does not affect the size of those images
aogara wrote: Discussion still open ... it may hurt the artistic sensibility of some modders, but it doesn't look so bad to me.
File display Alternative A-2
File display Alternative B-2

axonis wrote: Exactly, File display Alternative B-2 shows that BBcode-based descriptions can perfectly fit with a tight display of stats to the right of the description.
slippyguy wrote: I wouldn't mind seeing something along the lines of this. Most mod authors seem to not include versions in the names of their files, which makes the whole old files section a huge pain, having to expand every file to see which version is which.
axonis wrote: @slippyguy -- good point, if some files have to be collapsed, at least some information (such as version) can be displayed about them instead of an empty bar.

The update of the file sections is way better now !
Like the slippyguy proposition

This has been said before, I'm sure, but for what it's worth- why does "modern" mean "90-degree angles replace curves"? I like how the "old" Nexus looks, with its pill-shaped buttons at the top of the screen. Microsoft already did away with curves in Windows; hope Nexus doesn't go the same way.

Even Firefox got rid of curves. What's up with this? All these straight lines in an attempt to look neat instead are hard on the eyes. There's a reason everything worked for so long with curves, why change now?

New design is okay I guess....

But I was using original just to be able to read anything. For what reason is white text on light grey background and light grey text on white background. Either choose white text on black background or black text on white background.

Please provide those of us who paid you for access to this site the version we paid for. I would NEVER HAVE PAID FOR THIS TRAVESTY.

The only thing you have accomplished is to make your website 10x LESS USER FRIENDLY.

Seriously I assume the designer of this never browses sites and has little to zero experience designing.

I agree with a post I read a moment ago...I hope you did not actually pay anyone for this.

Change the NexusMods website back to the old layout

91.67 % (66 votes)Yes

8.33 % (6 votes)No

72 total votes.

Very small group voted...I'm sure if we could have the rest actually vote the same relative values would be overwhelming.
