unable to regain player controls

as the title says, after becoming a werewolf for the first time the PC is moved to Aela outside the fort where the pc becomes locked into a force greet scene, Pressing Tab for exit does nothing and the only key that works is the tilde key. using enableplayercontrols does nothing and have to use the task manager to close the game.

any suggestions on how to fix this?

Try this.

In the console type

enableplayercontrols

Later

thanks for the reply. I tried it and nothing happened.

The situation is when Aela is telling you about attacking the silver hand in the fort. she finishes her dialogue, the message map is updated appears and in the bottom corner is tab/exit. you can turn the camera, slowly, like your in a force greet but thats it. Every time I have to close from Task manager, I've tried going back to a previous save and it does the same thing the moment I reach that point again. I am at a loss.

Hi, im experiencing the same issue, and have tried both of the commands but the problem persists for me, its a fantastic mod set, but frustrating

You have my sympathy. I've noticed a lot of scripted animations (such as from Babo Dialogue or Ostim or whatever) leave me stuck without control if the animations are interrupted by combat. The epc controls or the like don't free it, and MCM settings to re-establish player controls don't work.

For this reason I make sure to have a clean save before animations are about to start so that if something goes wrong I can recover to an earlier save with minimal loss.

It's a shame because some of the scripted scenes are super cool (such as kidnappings and the like), but it is what it is 🙂

P.S. In Fallout 4 this problem is protected from happening because the authors of the scripted events (such as J.B. for Commonwealth Slavers or the like) add pacification bubbles into the scripts so that combat cannot initiate when a scripted scene is taking place. I'm unaware of any authors adding this protection to Skyrim SE scripts, however.
