Ghogiel
TO clarify, what shader settings effect this glossiness? nifskope calls it Specular Power - Glossiness. Though gloss is not exactly what is being asked about in this thread.
soulslayerzx
BUMP. Sorry, I still need help. So if the textures including the black backgrund are on the alpha channel, what is ton the rgb layers? And how do I legitamately create a normal map, I went to photoshop>filters>nvidia>normal map filter>and stuff but it didn't work. Can someone give me a thorough process for the alpha settings that should exist in the main file and what sohuld be in the normal map file, like the alpha channel and stuff

dfac364
Not sure if it has been mentioned but sometimes adding a copy of your specular map to the alpha of your normal map can improve the quality i assume it would also change the brightness since the specular is a greyscale but i wouldnt know because ive never not done it. As for creating the specular map all you have to do is take the diffuse image and first bring the saturation down to negative 100 than change the leveling options (I think its "Ctrl L" for photo shop) you will see a slider underneath a graph just move the slider to the right a bit maybe down to .5 (always worked for me) and thats it just save it and copy if you plan on using at the alpha for your specular.
