Fkemman11 Posted November 3, 2017 Share Posted November 3, 2017 I have been hearing a few rumors about Beth possibly doing a game for Game of Thrones. What would that turn out to be I wonder? Would it be a game that holds as closely to the books and HBO series lore as possible? Would it follow the main story-line and be some kind free roaming world like Skyrim? Would you play a brand new character or one of the many already in place such as Tyrion or John Snow? Anyway I was just wondering if there was any truth to the rumor at all. I do know that Beth was approached to do this some years back and they decided to focus on their next ES game instead(Skyrim). Perhaps the offer is still on the table for them. What do you think a Game of Thrones world done by Beth would be like? If they even follow the books loosely, it would make for another excellent open world explorer- if nothing else. JimmyRJump Posted November 29, 2017 Share Posted November 29, 2017 I think developing something like Game Of Thrones as a PC/Console game is a bit of a nightmare because of the many main characters the original story has. Screenplay-wise it's a bloody nightmare to convert into a game. Either they would have to make any of the main characters a playable one or develop a new character full stop. I mean, who are you gonna play with? The main characters introduced in the first season of GOT all die within a few episodes. John Snow or any of the girls are way too young at the beginning... Then there's the dragon thing in GOT. Leans way too close to Skyrim content. I mean, dragons? Again? Dunno. At first it sounds like a great idea, but it could prove a touch difficult to tackle and would certainly take a whole lot of time to develop AND would have to be spread over several games, maybe even one per House from the books/series...
