DLC rumors

So currently there are several rumors going around right now on DLC, and I'd like to point them out and start a small discussion.

One is the Dwemer, the one I personally either started or helped start. Sure, they're gone, but you have to remember something about the Elder Scroll and the Time Wound (lol, no spoiler unless you know about them, if you don't, well, still no spoiler) and you could use those two things to travel back in time to when the Dwemer were about to be killed off.

Second is the land to the west of Skyrim, just check you're map and head west and there's a huge opening. It stretches into Hammerfell and (I think) some of High Rock. Could involve some of the Hammerfell resistance against the Dominion, or the rumors of the Hammerfell Riders is a true thing.

And third is the land southeast of Riften, stretching into Cyrodil and Morrowind, which both have unfinished landscapes. Cyrodil has the exact outline of the province, and a portion of the White Gold Tower. Could have some to do with the southern parts and confronting the Empire.

Any others? Please just post them, and I'll add them to the list.

Looking forward to one being DLC? Please say so.

Please ignore whatever is on the second page.

I highly doubt that the dwemer will make an appearance any time soon in any TES game or dlc. I also doubt we'll see any other major area of the continent opened up as the regions are generally reserved for full games, but who knows perhaps they start a new trend.

I'm betting it will be an island somewhere off the coast. I could also see perhaps revisiting cyrodiil and dealing with the emperor / thalmor situation. Unless that will be one of those situations that we don't get to be involved in and just find out what happened when the next TES game is released and takes place hundreds of years in the future.

It's always hard to say with Bethesda.

It was determined that the "extra" land to the west is still Skyrim, and the land to the south was added so that any curious persons looking to the south from the top of a mountain would have a low-res texture to look at.

I doubt there would be DLC associated with it. There has been talk from Bethesda that the land "may" have been left in for modders. Any DLC would override mods in those areas.

The time wound left a scar that is where it sits now. We do not know much information about the whole thing, but we do know how it was formed and what it does. It could have opened and drifted in and out of the known linear timeline. Maybe it opens in all times at the same instant and all people in or near its location can see and sense its presence.

So, why can't a band of Dwemer or war pary or whatever cross through into anytime, even moments, months or years ago (or from now) at the same point the time rift was used. I think anything in the history of the elder scroll is possible once the time berrier rift was opened. Maybe thats where Rifton got its name. The wake of the time storm that was truely a rift and allowed unimagineable things into the lands to be dealt with.

Hope not, those all sound terrible.

Wow, you don't understand Skyrim do you? Don't expect one like the "Hammerfell Riders" or anything like that.

What are you going on about? 'Not understanding Skyrim' is people that think the lands west and south east of Skyrim are DLC when its blatantly obvious they are there for high altitude draw distances, or think that the Dwemer are coming back. 'Not understanding the Elder Scrolls series' is people that think we are going to another full province or back to one we've already been to, when Beth already said we wouldn't. I know more about ES than you ever will, fail less next time.

Anyway, we basically already have a DLC in a mod. Its called Moonpaths:Elsweyr.

So if the land to the south and west is just window dressing, then why did they build several different roads into it? Seems like a waste of time unless they eventually connect them to something. It seems pretty obvious that those roads go somewhere in somebody's plans. If it is there for modders, then how do we get to it? You can only go a few steps past the gates. I'm sure some of you know how to break the boundary, but I would guess that would result in a pretty odd experience considering how empty the landscape is. There is room for a great deal of work before it is ready to be played in. In fact it is just perfect for developing some involved and complex extensions of the game. If it is done by dozens of different modders, it will result in a very inconsistent experience without some kind of underlying structure, which is completely missing right now.

Heh, nice joke. I've been playing since Arena. And Beth hasn't released ANYTHING yet, and never said anything about "new provinces" or "not returning." And btw, it's "TES" not "ES."
