Guest Guest_KieronStormshot
:( First of all I have both Tribunal and Bloodmoon installed with the latest patches, all my drivers are the most recent available and here is the problem. After finishing the main quest in Bloodmoon I went back to Mournhold to finish the Tribunal quests. I had just killed Amalexia(sp?) talked with Azura and spoken to the king to get my Royal Guard Armor set. Did a quicksave & a regular save, and went to the museum to get some of my Artifacts back. Got caught stealing one and had to fight the museum lady and all the ordinators. Went to load the last save game to try again and game locks up loading the save. Restarted my computer, loaded Morrowind with no problems and tried to load the savegame again. Error "Bloodmoon.esm is not a valid TES file" huh?? If I choose continue running the executable I get a million errors with quest and journal entries not found. If I choose to continue after each error the save finally loads but the quest function in my Journal is completely empty, and the journal is missing alot of things in itself. I un-installed Bloodmoon and re-installed it and still get the same problem, with some new errors looking for references consisting of a ton of numerical characters for certain things like Heart-Fang"9745243525245425245" etc. I have tried loading games from before I installed both Bloodmoon and Tribunal and still get the same thing. Bloodmoon.esm is not a valid TES file. Can someone please help me? My character is currently a level 85 Wood-Elf thief, with almost every artifact in the game. I have so much time invested in this game and character I can't stand the thought I will have to start completely over. Thoughts or Ideas?? I un-installed everything. I cleaned out the Registry of any Bethesda or Morrowind references. Did the fresh install of Morrowind, Tribunal, Plugins and Bloodmoon. Moved my backed-up save games back to their place in the Morrowind Directory. Tried to load a save, got many errors like this one "Could not locate info"2069014045115493998" for Dialogue"Black_Lodge_Key" and others. Then got the Bloodmoon.esm is not a Valid TES file again. Please, Please help me. I don't want to start all over again with my characters etc. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I started a new game with a new character just to see if the same thing happened. When the new character was killed in combat and it asked if I wanted to load the last save game everything loaded fine. If I went to the menu and chose load a game then I got the same errors I have been getting since the beginning of the problem. Help please. Stampede
I'm very sorry to hear about your predicament, especially since you obviously put so much time into developing your character. Going through the registry is a good idea, I would've thought that would have cleaned out any form of corruption when you re-installed. Did you ever do anything to alter the Bloodmoon ESM using the construction kit?
KieronStormshot
I haven't done anything to the .esm files in the Construction set. I can't understand why this is happening, and I am running out of ideas.
Switch
wow thats bizarre! all i can recommend is perform a very thorough virus scan, defrag, and general error scan as is offered by norton and some other computer utility programs, also do a spyware check as spyware can destabilize ur computer if it doesnt work after all that well... u may have 2 format :(
ThetaOrionis01
You could try e-mailing Bethesda with your problem - it sounds thoroughly bizarre. Maybe there's an incompatibility between some of the patches? Or maybe somehow your savegames got corrupted? Good luck - hope you can get it sorted out. KieronStormshot
I started a new game with a new character just to see if the same thing happened. If I went to the menu and chose load a game then I got the same errors I have been getting since the beginning of the problem. Help please.Deleted my swap file, closed all un-needed processes and still having the same problem. I am currently running 8 un-official mods, but have never had a problem with any of them until this recent major problem. After cleaning out my Temp directories again and re-creating the swap file I tried starting a new character again. Played for an hour or so but it would not let me save other that quicksave. This is the error(s) I got:Unable to complete operation due to failure renaming temp file.Temp file remains.CreateTES failed for file 'newchar0000.ess'. Save aborted.CreateFile('C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Saves\newmist0000.ess') in CreateTES failed with error:The system cannot find the file specified.Unable to complete operation due to failure removing previous file.Temp file remains.CreateTES failed for file 'newmist0000.ess'. This object will be deleted.Trying to load a bad form in TES3File::NextForm.File = Tribunal.esmOffset = 16 Any thoughts or Ideas? This is getting very old fast. I don't want to lose my character but I am not able to start over again either. Thanks
Switch
oh so you ARE running mods... i suggest disabling all of them, and seeing if this fixes the problem... if so, reload them one at a time until u get the error again, then u know what one is the culprit. if not, then email bethesda cos im stumped. :(
