New monitor help

Hello i am in need of a new monitor but i can wait until Boxing day. Chances for a good bargain then, not to far away :dance:

 

If you can spot one on sale. I'm looking for a IPS monitor, 32 inch's is the maximum size. as low as 27inches is as low as i will go.

What will be the main use?

 

Do you want an ultra-wide, g-sync or 4k monitor?

 

I recently bought the LG 27UD68-p 4k monitor and I love it. Your GPU can't handle 4k though

 

A nice 1440p monitor might be the best option.

I'm on a budget, 300$ or less would be a good.

 

I'm using it for Gaming mostly :dance:

1920*1080 on a 27 inch monitor looks horrible.

You have a GTX 1070. I suggest getting a 1440p monitor and call it a day. This monitor is 27 inches, is a BenQ, and is currently on sale for in your price range using CAD ($299).

I just noticed that your second link is the monitor I have linked as well. It seems that Amazon is selling it cheaper though, so that is something to consider.

You might want to look in to the warranty for different brands. When I bought my dell 1440p monitor five years ago, dell had a 100% pixel guarantee.

 

The 1440p IPS panels all come from the same factory and you can tell which quality you get by the price and pixel guarantee.

32" $199.00. I was a little worried cus the price was so low but anything else comparable was in the 300- 400$ range...I am uber happy with it though. Lotsa real estate.

You're in a difficult spot. 32" is right at the bottom end of the range for TVs, which since 2010 consistently offer much better picture quality than monitors. You could get a FALD with 500 nits brightness - a massive improvement over your average edge-lit 300 nit monitor.

However, most 32" are out of production. None are 4K. 1440p is nonexistent. If you're interested in going down that route - 1080p, 32", possibly hard to find, and will be refurbished or used - please say so, I'll try to see what's good and can be found.

 

With 1440p IPS, one way to go is Korean Crossover panels that can be overclocked up to 120-144 Hz. But they're 27". Very good for a 27" though.

Do you mine? If not, it's hard to imagine why might one spend $1,500+ on PC hardware and only leave $300 for the display. If yes, you should be getting over $100/month now from a single 1070 with gaming breaks.

The problem with TV's is input lag which can be horrendous on some models even with the bells and whistles off. At 1080p I would think of 27 inch as the absolute max, 1080p on a 27 inch screen gives 81 pixels per inch, not great but OK, at 32 inches you're down to 68, the difference will be noticeable.
