jappa1234
Hello  something weird happened to my game, i feel like i tried everything to fix it: reinstall body(CBBE), reinstall textures(fair),different race/preset,start new game, nothing seems to work, im not sure but i think its happened when i was changing presets in racemenu, i guess its body problem not textures because when i change weight to 0, hands are still on 100 and they are basically too big Like i said nothing seems to work, same problem with npc i didnt install any texture/body mods recently only presets Any ideas how to fix it ? Thanks! Edited November 24, 2017 by jappa1234
twowolves80
It's definitely not weight. If you're character is already a vampire and you use ShowRaceMenu, it will revert it back to a wonky state where you can't change anything. If not a vampire, it's still most likely tied to a bad install, or something overwrote it wrong. I would say one of the presets was using vanilla hands for an asset.I'd try installing only CBBE over again, and go through the overwrite dialogue boxes one by one. Only overwrite what you want to come through as purely CBBE, so the hands should be fixed, but you might want to do this last, after you finish tinkering with the face and everything else. If it still persists, then I'm not sure, but you're definitely not the only one with it. I just always make sure to pick my angles for screenshots carefully if I have to shoot a character's wrists bare. Otherwise, I just keep bracers of some kind on.Hope this helps. Edited November 25, 2017 by twowolves80
ymf331
those hands don't look like fair skin complexion. they look a lot like the texture from default cbbe. the fact that it affects npcs too would suggest that it's not due to anything you did in racemenu. i'd reinstall fair skin complexion and make sure you're overwriting femalehands.dds and femalehands_msn.dds with textures from it. are you using a mod manager? if it's mo you can go into the data tab and see which mod your hand textures come from. Yes i use MO, textures come from Fair, same problem when i uninstall fair and use cbbe textures Someone told me to use texblend lite from cbbe i will do later it and we will see Edited November 25, 2017 by jappa1234
ymf331
*the only way i can think of that your npc's wouldn't be using the hand textures in data/textures/actors/female would be if the hand mesh used a different texture path. i've never run into that personally and can't think of any reason why someone would do it. jappa1234
It happened/changed in game and i feel like it can be fixed only in game because any install/reinstall/uninstall doesnt work
twowolves80
You could try building the reference body in Outfit Studio, assigning it new hands and Exporting To NIF with Reference to the actors/character/character assets folder. Those are vanilla hands, that's why weight won't affect them no matter what you do. Vanilla hands are bigger than CBBE, which is why the wrists don't line up. You have to find where the hands are being generated from (either your data folder, or MO's virtual install directory), and replace those hands with that of CBBE. jappa1234
Ok i fixed it, i dont know how but somehow follower mod called "Standalone follower Arien Starsong" https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/87807 caused the problem
twowolves80
Oh, cool! Now, you could take a look at that mod's mesh files, and see where it's getting its hands from, or if it has hand files at all. That would confirm the mod as the source of the problem definitively, and then you could PM the author and let them know so they know to fix it.Thanks for posting that you found the solution!
