IanEG
When I installed the new beta patch my game seemed to lose 5 or 6fps in places like the aspen forest around Riften. Has anybody else had this problem? Is it caused by the new grass shading?
jedimembrain
it is because of the grass .. I'm not getting a noticable fps loss but the grass is glitchy as hell now .. I hope bethesda gives us an option to turn it off while they fix it or release the ini fiile changes that need to be made to disable the effect .. aside from that its been a great patch. Brandy1123
In Game setop uptions at the loader screan, go in and set grass view distance to off - slider to the extreme left. This took care of the grass problem for me. its ugly now, but it plays with out the graphical errors.
Elsarian
The shadows on the grass look phenomenal to me! A much better implementation that that of Oblivion. Although, mods will more than likely make it better, unless the effect is hardcodded and can't be touched. Second, after updating to the beta from 1.4.27, my FPS has drastically improved. I have been running the game wonderfully except for the occasional stutter when loading in a new cell or a chunk of LOD. Or the code being weird, but that's what skyboost is for. Seems like Beth is pushing out patches faster than anyone can get their mods up-to-date. But no issues on my end. I was glad to get the patch due to more memory optimization and the new finishers, which I am loving. And the shadows on grass, which are so much better than I expected. Looks perfect to me. -Elsarian
