game broken

help,
i have about 250 mods installed,
from clothing, body, settler ,spawn points, animation, robot, vertibirds,

and i think i broke the game,

was running fine untill somehow i glitched out a bit, then returned to a bed to save,, then realized i wasn't wearing armour and my inventory was empty,
then tried to open workbench and half the options missing,,, main options for wood electricity decoration, resources and so fourth,,
SKE and singing settlers showed up fine.

i walked around for a bit and noticed all the buildings i had made had vanished.

i usually exit game and reload and its all fine,
but this time i think something has overwritten itself .
and now when i continue playing.,,, all my buildings are gone, and the game almost starts all over again,, with all the quests from the start,,, on pip boy it does say i have completed them,, but a notifications pops up(about 25 quests)

 

 

 

robot home defence never really worked as i had other mods installed

 

fusion city rising made diamond city vendors desks disappear and walls to become visible.

 

my last few mods i updated with

a patch to help horizon, mass frame rate and other,, distance faders ..
and vertibird it crashed a few times.

 

 

 

i have intentionally pushed my computer to limits with what i can do and how much i can run with it slowing down,,,
and have not kept up to date with load orders (been many years since i knew how)

 

 

i think the game has reset it self,
i still have all my loot,, but no inventory,

and most of my construction is missing.
all quests seem to have restarted.

The only advice I can give you, after reading your "problems" is to start all over with modding; delete the lot from NMM when using it and begin with mods that other mods will need. Stuff like the Unofficial Patch, SKSE and some such.

 

And before installing anything, read the descriptions on the mod pages, because, to me, it sounds like you are just doing something/anything and see if it will work. Well, it won't. And when it does it's going to be only for so long...

disabled a few plugins and mods,,,
now crashes on startup,

if im quick enough i can get past start intro movie,, and get into the game menu,, and when i click continue,, it crashes,
last night i was at least able to get into the game,, missing everything,,

today ...no luck

true,, very true..

im just shooting pot luck really,,, so far it has been working,,,

now its a mess..

 

any way i can save the save game ?

all the other bits and things i dont need,,,just the save game.

The reason why a game often breaks when having played for a while is that mods being added get info baked into the save. Deleting the mod will at first often have no influence, but further down the line, because of the changes the now deleted mod has made in the game, you'll run into trouble.

 

You can use your current save, but nine out of ten it won't work any longer when deleting/changing mods. And if it does work, then you'll be back here in a few because the game broke again :D Remember that the save contains all of the changes you've made, so, hey... it's like pouring a cup of coffee in a bucket of water. Getting the coffee back out is feasable, but it'll leaves traces. This is true only for mods with a plug-in, of course.

 

Sure, it's a game of hit and miss, but at least try to put some method in your madness :wink:

start all over again ?

i really dont feel like doing the whole game again,,,,

i work late nights and use the game for when im waiting for products to Finnish (paint to dry sorta thing)
i putter around and farm,, build towns and so forth,,,

after a few months i have added a dozen new towns and built them up..

so,,,if i delete some old mods,,, it will maybe work,, but not in the long run.
i have tried backtracking and finding the mod thats making the system crash (possible many conflicts)

dumped all the mods,, and was able to get into the game,, naturally a lot will have changed,,,
so going through them one by one to try get a stable collection..

some one mentioned that you need a holotape to uninstall a few,,,,,,,,,,pesky

Here's my last load order (254 plug-ins). Worked fine except for some conflicts between the Red Rocket Settlements mod (the Quincy one) and Vault 88 because their borders along the road to Quincy town were too close to one another. Also keep in mind that this is a list from somewhere in May, when I last played te game...

i have most of those,,

i think its Armorsmith Extended.esp
or some other workbench thats conflicting with something..

got it up and running,, but without mods....
going to sort and load one by one
