IanEG
Ever since updating to 1.5 I have suffered a big performance drop, going from a steady 60fps down to 45 in places. At first I thought it was the grass shaders but i tracked the problem down to the Textures/terrain/objects folder where Beth added a objects dds file. When I removed said file my performance returned to normal. I'm not sure what it does but its not worth 15fps! Hope this is useful to someone. Elsarian
That file that you removed was for the new terrain that the patch added. Pretty much it just allowed for a smoother transition of the LOD when in a snowy area.
Rennn
The patch also added grass shadows, which will hurt some framerates. I'm not sure if you can turn them off, though presumably there's a way in the .ini.As for myself, I'm likeing the patch so far. I got minimal framerate loss, grass shadows, smoother LOD, and so far few bugs since I ironed them out during the beta. At first my shadows were wonky, but something I did fixed it. Elsarian
Yes. Yes I do. Then just update skyrim in steam. It's the most recent patch, so skyrim should be updated to it right away. Edited March 22, 2012 by Elsarian

I had already updated to the 1.5 patch, however, what I didn't recive was this random file the the OP said was part of the update. What I asked was clarification on were precisley he found this file new file. Thanks anyway.

I haven't really noticed much of a change with the terrain other than it being less blocky than before. And it seems that it loads in farther away, making it look like a much smoother transition into a new region.
