Why is there still no respec mod?

This is starting to get annoying. I mean, can it be that hard? I mean, I shouldn't be scrutinizing the community for this, cuz' I sure as hell don't know how to make mods. But it seems the closest any body has gotten has been just short-cutting the use of console commands. Why can't somebody just make a mod, that removes all perks, and gives you back the amount of perks, whatever level you are, in return?

Did Bethesda purposely lock out the perk points system even in the Creation mod kit? It seems like that's that part no on can get past. I just really want to fix my mage, seeing as I made him a mage thief, but now that I have my own dedicated thief at level 81, I want to put more points in the mage skills I decided to skip, like illusion and conjuration. The one thing that I want to make sure of is that it is, for the most part, legit. I like to keep my Skyrim close to the way the devs intended it to be played. Most of the time, even opting out of mods that add weapons or spells, and usually even house and quest mods I don't touch. I do feel respeccing should be in the game though, maybe make it super costly, like 50k a respec or something IDK. Anybody working or heard of any better respecing mods in the works?

Then you have missed the point. The Devs intended for character creation to be a fluid thing. Your character will be a thief if you play them as a thief, and a mage if you play them as a mage. Going back and tweaking your perks is completely contrary to how the game was designed to be played.

If you got the creation kit you can edit your character. I have it when I restart a game that I have a bunch of perks like Unbreakable, and Deadly Aim still at LVL 1... Plus I was able to make it so i have the shadow power from being an agent of nocturnal, without doing the thieves guild quest, and set it up so it takes 2 days for the power to wear off. My point is go to spell list in CK and the bottom is add perks. Add ones that are simple and a waste of choosing during the game. Then you should have extra perk points as you level up. My guy is level 1 with a crap load of perks. Plus it will help you get familiar with mods.

There's no decent re-perk mods because it's bloody difficult to create one.

It's not a matter of simply editing or adding a few variables, entire mechanics have to be made because Bethesda lacked the foresight to add them themselves.

The major issue - and this has been said many times before - is not resetting your perks but getting an set number back. We can use console commands to reset our perks easily enough, but there's no built-in function that lets us add X amount of unused perk points, nor does the game calculate how many perk points you should have (based on your level). These have to be added from scratch, depending on the mod you want to make.

The closest I've seen to a decent "re-perk" mod would be this, and the potion itself isn't cheap, but you can bypass that using console commands:

I'm using this mainly because I use this mod, which removes perk prerequisites, thereby making tools like the Perk Planner harder to use.
