Ikhtionikos
Hi there! I've no idea how modding works, except the fact that you talented people do wonderful jobs. So, don't laugh at me if I say something dumb.An idea occurred to me, and since I can't mod at all I decided to throw it out here. IMHO it would be awesome to have horses that you can ride in New Vegas. It pretty much matches the style and everything, I mean there's already tons of cowboy-y stuff in the game, vanilla and mod too, why not add horses that you can ride? Maybe you can take the horses from Skyrim or Oblivion, since those are Bethesda too? Or if not, couldn't you make the brahmins move while you are on them, also be able to steer them while at that? This would be tremendosly funny considering how Thabita is paranoic and terrified of "Two-head bear people astride battle cattles". Thank you, and let me know what you think. It doesn't seem like a silly idea, it sounds rather plausible actually! I won't like to work on that project myself and there may be some limitations, but I would love to see it!
avianrave
What I would like to see is making the horse a creature that has its own AI and such. To make it move forward, make it go to a xmarker that is dynamically placed in front of it. That way, the horse will follow the navmesh, and will act more like a real creature instead of a biological motorcycle. I'm not sure if it would stop them from jumping over cliffs, but if it did, it would add a lot of immersion.

DizzasterJuice
I actually made a horse from oblivion work for fallout 3 but that was years ago and I didn't know as much about modding then...it was buggy as hell and I never published it. If I remember correctly, the problem was that the PC animations all had to be converted from oblivion to fallout. The skeleton is different as well as the base arm angles. The point I'm making is that it can be done, but it would take someone with a good working knowledge of 3d modeling program and animations. Zyio
I've always loved this idea, even if I wouldn't use the mod myself. I recall reading that horses are actually extinct, which is unfortunate, but one could always use a brahmin, bighorner, or some new critter to ride. If a slimmer brahmin and/or bighorner were modelled, one could say they were specifically bred for riding. Like how thoroughbreds are bred slim and fast to race. Figure out how to throw some armor on the mount and you'd be the greatest terror of the wastes.
