One x 13 x 13 Gameplayers were preparing for the first gameworld multiquests to be issued. That the First Gameforce of 13 Gameteams that each had 13 Gameplayers. Clone born, from surrogate mothers, the 169 of them heavily programmed-conditioned and trained-educated.

Greatly, but ultimately expendable, the quietly still shapeshifters were stronger, faster, more agile than standard transhumans and had other special abilities besides. They wore tight, black, shapersuits designed to both work alone and with their intrinsic shapeshifting abilities. Along with tight black utility-belts, dotted with small black cube shaped beltboxes, they each had on their back a flat rectangular, backbox.

The massive metallic chamber was mostly empty and up ahead-above them was a great podium with 13 Gamelords along with transhuman VIPs. Thankfully none of the transhuman politicians had been allowed to give speeches; they would have to leave that for the voting public back in Sanctuary Gamma.

Gamelords were one primary golden, three silvery secondaries and nine copperish foundationals. The humanoids were much taller than the standard sized transhuman adults, being three metres to the 1.5 metres of the transhumans who wore colour coded robetunics. In the background stood Gamelordite as guards, thirteen of them in metallic colour coded power armour more advanced than the stuff that transhumans got to use.

AlphaAlpha001 felt mild contempt for the majority of ever resources, kudos and glory hungry transhumans up on the podium. She felt wary of the Gamelords. Only a few of the transhumans had even some of her trust and respect but three had much of both.

She was not surprised when her trophy winning Gameteam was chosen just as she knew that she was different from nearly all there, was more than a transhuman be that standard or otherwise. Soon they would be surprise launched to a Gameworld, one of a short list that all Gameplayers were prepared to do with at least at starting levels.

The Prime Gamelord spoke. "It has begun. Gameteam Alpha step forward into the Game Entrance Circle." That was it. A minimal of words and no melodrama.

The Gameteam did as ordered, all 13 Gameplayers entering the metallic circle as ordered. In formation they waited for just five seconds before they vanished with a sparkling shimmer.

What remained of Washington DC, the less ruined lying beneath a lightly cracked, transparent, citydome and the more ruined being beneath no dome at all. Except that outside of the citydome there were areas that were surprisingly less damaged thanks to self repairing smartmaterials and other factors.

New names were good to use even if they were linked to falsehoods. Janita Rosema, soldier of fortune, crouched in her combat armour suit and examined a dead radghoul. She frowned softly. "According to available datafiles radghouls were created by a mixture of influences being intensive radiation, a variety of FEV and NukaCola addiction."

Being also AlphaAlpha001, she held a brutally powerful battlecarbine that used 12.7mm cartridges. It was an identical copy of a type of weapon as used by various Fallout Gameworld Factions. She had a powerful 12.7mm semiautopistol at her side along with having a combat longknife, a combat knife, a canteen, some pouches and a few other handy items of which most were hidden.

They had materialised in an underground smartconcrete chamber, an underground car parking chamber of great size with big smartconcrete pillars. Hovercars were still parked there along with small electric runabouts, some electric bikes and scooters along with bicycles. The most common transports was a row of corporate owned electric commuter buses. With increasing shortages of resources, in the Predoomsday world, the war economy meant that very few people got to privately own vehicles. Most were leased for use of employees or special status individuals such as doctors and public transport was greatly used.

The Gameplayers had a lot of general facts, like that, but not a great deal of details to fill in the multiple gaps in their databanks. Gaining reliable data was part of their multiquest.

As Gameplayer Lieutenant, Janita Rosema spoke. "We have to help Program Purity succeed but first we have to find out what it is. We have 13 clues being one primary, three secondary and nine basic. The primary is TechVault101. The first secondary is Jasmine Anderson. The second secondary is James Anderson. The third secondary is Catherine Anderson. The first basic is Megaton. The second basic is Colin Moriarty. The third basic is Garden of Eden Creation Kit or GECK. The fourth basic clue is the Flanders Scrapyards. The fifth basic is Dogmeat, the dog. The sixth basic is Ghoultown. The seventh basic is Charon. The eighth basic clue is Kate Reilly of the Reilly Rangers. The ninth clue is the Mysterious Stranger."

She sighed softly. "First Ever Quests are the discovering or prize packages, markers and surprises for Sanctuary Gamma. The second one is Gameworld prize packages, markers, collectables and surprises for the team. The third one is finding, using or trading of goods. The fourth is the finding of very special items for the Gamelords. The fifth is finding a range of special items, including collectables, linked to a range of Ever Subquests. Anybody got any questions?"

Private Oddball spoke out from where he was studying a dead radroach. "Apart from oversized cockroaches, I wonder what else is over big out there? Quite beautiful, isn't it? I would like to have a pet radroach."

Sergeant Stephen frowned softly. "Questions, Oddball, just questions about what the lieutenant is speaking about. Maybe we can get you a radroach pet later but for now, focus."

Corporal Sandington stared into space but when she spoke, people listened. "Firstly we must go to Ghoultown that is beneath the great big GrandMall Museum of History."

The FarWanderer moved often but was one multiple individual that was 13 semi-individuals or at least it could become so for it was so far just one shapeform. At this time it was a glowing sphere, translucent to look upon and unnoticed, even if seen, by most. The sphere was the primary avatar of the FarWanderer.

Soon it would be time to manifest a secondary avatar, being the Mysterious Stranger. The two other secondary avatars, as designed for that exotic dimensional realm, were MrWalker and MissFortune.

The Mysterious Stranger was nearly always in disguising power armour of exotic nature. Or so was the appearance of things.

MrWalker was nearly always clearly a man as MissFortune was a woman except when they 'wore' power armour or other covering gear.

Each of the three secondaries had three reflective avatars to summon if they needed them and together that made up the nine foundational avatars.

It drifted, purposely, past a McMac family diner being of a popular chain of franchise stores owned before the war by the McMac Corporation; that was only a daughter corporation to the far bigger, more powerful, and wealthier FoodTech TechCorp. An autorobotic McMacman leaned awkwardly against a wall, lightly damaged, close to an open doorway full of once brightly colourful fixtures, furniture, decorations and the skeletal remains of former customers.

A wounded radroach, a victim of a running creature much bigger than itself that had not even noticed what it had done, vanished with a soft sparkling shimmer.

The advanced nuclear warheads had been bad enough but there had been other kinds of superweapons used on Doomsday that had been, in truth, 1.6 days in duration. None appeared to know who-what had started the brief exchange of superweapon attacks.

At the corner of Constitutional Avenue, and Bill of Rights Street, the primary FarWanderer continued straight on while the Mysterious Stranger was suddenly standing close to a statue of some obscure early 19th Century American politician of South America of the United Commonwealths of America. That is the 31 Commonwealths stretching from the northern border of Alaska to the southern most coast of Chile.

:armscrossed: :armscrossed: :armscrossed:

The Gameteam was in the GrandMall area, making their way up a sloping tunnel with a rejuvenated-regenerated securatron robot stomping along on its legs. Other salvage had been teleported to the Gameteamcube along with a radroach and some muttplants. Oddball was in the Gameteamcube, resting with a contented radroach sleeping alongside him, being Oddball's newest pet-companion.

Only one of the Gameplayers could be in the Gameteamcube, at any one time, with out spending valuable Gamecredit and as yet they had only a basic starting amount of that, a starting emergency reserve and a small amount that they had earned since materialising.

Stagnant water puddles, rotting wooden pieces, small insects and not any giant ones, were dimly lit by emergency solidstate fluroflats melded to the ceiling. Private Ralting had gotten some samples of water, dead insects and even some strange smelling muttmoss. He had analysed the samples with a handscanner before teleporting them to the Gameteamcube. His not so surprising findings, so far, was of unnatural speed and directions of evolutionary patterns; in other words lifeforms were distorting both fast and strangely though far from all of them.

When the radghouls came charging down the tunnel towards the 12 Gameplayers, they managed to chase them off with some gunfire noises, using sound makers rather than wasting ammo with the use of real guns. Unlike radghoulers, radghoulers were not suicidal in their attacks and there were other nonviolent tricks that could be used, successfully.

Oddball wanted a radghoul as a pet-companion but the lieutenant had vetoed that request, at least for the foreseeable future.

3.2[8]

They paused at a half broken chamber showing that it was dark outside and radghouls, radghoulers and other ghoulkind would be out and about. Ghoulkind was very vulnerable to ultraviolet light and very intensive UV exposure would kill them or at least badly damage them. Because of that, ghoulkind did not tend to range far from shelter in the night.

Radghoulbeasts moved in packs, along with radghouls, or radghoulers, that went with them. Radghoulbeasts varied, as threats, but the more rotten-damaged in appearance they were, the more dangerous they tended to be. Most common were radghouldogs but some other kinds were more dangerous.

In a small shop, where the dozen sheltered while a large ghoulified wild pack went past, they found a translucent copperish sphere. Upon activation, and vanishing, it only provided a fairly small amount of important supplies but even that was necessary to help keep up resources. The resources materialised in the Gameteamcube.

Private Hiako, an oriental woman, read glossy tourist 3Dbrochures while trying to find out at least some useful information about the GrandMall considering its current condition.

Sublieutenant Hardwall poured a bottle of NukaCola Quantum into a special, compact, portable generator that was soon humming away as it recharged some rechargeable batteries. He shook his head in wonder. "To think that people used to drink this stuff."

Hiako spoke. "There is a subway tram stop, close to here, that could allow us easier access to Ghoultown."

Janita only nodded three times, meaning yes with an added confirmation.

The Mysterious Stranger strode along a mutated tree lined avenue in the darkness while way above showed the largest moon of Luna, two of the smaller three secondary moons, and just two of the nine minimoons. During the Age of Scientific Miracles, of the middle third of the 21st Century, somehow the twelve extra orbital objects had been added but, strangely enough, nobody seemed to know how-why it had happened.

At least none of the PostDD Earthfolk knew or at least none that were speaking publicly of such matters.

The Mysterious Stranger stood still as a group of radghouls went to scurry past and they all vanished away with a soft sparkling shimmer. Only a minimum, at any time, could be taken-saved but that could help save the balance for that badly damaged world.

Unless the so called Gamegod managed to stop such from happening.

The power armoured figure was seeking Gameplayers just as the Gameplayers were seeking to carry out their own goals.

4.2[10]

At the corner of Republican Avenue, and Democrat Street, he took out a globe that fitted neatly into both of his metallic power gloved hands. It was transparent but exotic 3D patterns flickered and danced inside it. After examining the Surreality Sphere, he returned it to the impossible pocket he had taken it from.

From the same transdimensional space he took a smooth, oddly translucent, metallic pistol with a circular pattern of eight narrow barrels along with a ninth in the middle. Raising it high at the sky, he caused it to fire off nine tiny sparks of energy that all sped off in different directions, one going straight upwards into the sky. Second later the sparks all flashed, briefly, and were gone.

He swapped the Sparks Pistol for the Surreality Sphere and read the globe once more. Then, with a frown, he slipped away the globe into the same transdimensional pocket. Instability factor was 0.06%. In itself that was nothing but it had been growing stronger when that should not have been happening.

A radghoul approached him, looking for others that had vanished and then it also was sent to somewhere special and friendly to radghouls.

The twelve now had Oddball amongst them as Hardwall was taking a rest in the Gameteamcube. Roachie001 had gotten sulky until he was allowed to lie down next to Hardwall who was watching a PreDD 3Dmovie comedy called Fallout Ya Pants II. Hardwall had to admit he did really understand it at all but Roachie001 seemed to be fascinated by the show so the sublieutenant left it on.

Roachie001 was toilet trained to go to his own pooper station just as he had his own washer station and feeder-water station. Private Ralting had analysed some radroach poop and, as he had estimated, it had some very valuable qualities to it. It could also give away valuable information about the natural aspects of that Gameworld.

After the 3Dmovie Hardwall checked some gear out of storage in that great 10x10x10 metre cubechamber, with a deck dividing it neatly in half. The upper floor was for the direct service-support of the Gameplayers and that was where Hardwall, and Roachie001 watched the 3Dmovie. Now they were down rampway in the lower chamber. Hardwall was putting into service tech that would be most useful in the semiruins of the GrandMall or so he hoped was the case.

Soon Hardwall slept in the Gameteamcube where time passed three times faster, in relative terms, than it did in the Gameworld which meant one had to sleep in the Gameteamcube to so as not to become exhausted 'out there' where it was always dangerous. Of course the radroach slept close to him though not as close as he slept with Oddball who even cuddled the radinsect at times.

6.1[12]

:whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

The Gamegod sat massively powerful, and handsome, on-in his great Gamethrone and wondered what he should have for second breakfast of that day. Clean fried bacon rashers, eggs, mushrooms and sliced meatworm would do the trick. That is a dozen rashers, a dozen eggs, a dozen big mushrooms and a dozen big cuts of a large crunchy meatworm.

His mind was also on the Fallout Gameworld, on the creatures called the ghoulkind. He spoke out his order, for his second breakfast, adding in a litre of rich black coffee and a litre of 100% orange juice. Seminaked young women, who were not really young women at all but advanced simulicant androids, soon brought him his food-drink, even drawing out his tray from his special chair and locking it into place.

Holographic images of radghouls, radghoulers and various types of radghoulbeasts hung in the air. He examined them as he gulped down a whole egg, chewed rapidly until it was liquid and then swallowed it. Then he spoke. "I forgot the multigrain toast. I want a dozen big, thick, slices of multigrain toast with lots of fresh butter, my adorable angel cakes."

Two of the smiling, blushing, women brought him the toast almost at once as if they had been expecting the request, which they had been for the Gamegod often forgot about the toast.

Then he spoke again. "While they are interesting enough, I think I will Gamemod additions to the ghoulkind but very carefully and not in any major fashion. After breakfast I will be going to my Gamestudio. I am not to be disturbed unless it is vital or unless you just want to come and entertain me, my lillypads of loveliness."

All thirteen maids giggled, blushed and simpered, doing so with well experienced professionalism.
