DirTek Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Hi there, I have seen so many people with custom titles...and I am stucked with "Veteran". Can someone tell me how to change it? If you don't know what I mean...check under the avatar ;) Thank you Cheers  Maafiaman
buddah Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 You can change your title in the user cp, link on the top of the forum page. then select: Edit Profile Information (under personal profile): You will get a screen and the top choice is "Custom member title", note; this is available after a certain number of posts and I am unsure of that number. I changed mine to "Official Old Fart" which seems appropriate. Buddah
DirTek Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 :( seems I don't have enough posts. The "Custom member title" is not there Thanks Maafiaman
Lord Slyther Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Yeah, you need 501 posts to access that. I'm so happy I got mine! You'll get yours soon.
NaaluNaiglemez Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Many here will never have 500 posts: dissatisfied demand
worm82075 Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Many here will never have 500 posts: dissatisfied demand Then many will not have contributed enough to earn the privilege. I like your idea by the way but it should say files instead of mods and it should be a suggestion not a demand. Robin is good people and a really nice and giving person but he is not the type to give in to the whims his members, least of all those that have contributed so very little to his sites. A better way to go would be to carefully word a poll and if enough people voted for your idea he might consider it but don't count on it because he has already stated previously that the forum code is not his own and for that reason he doesn't like to alter it. Edit: woohoo! 300th post, I'm 60% there
NaaluNaiglemez Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 It was indeed a suggestion and not a demand. And it is not a question of privilege, but of practical information.
Community Manager Dark0ne Posted June 23, 2008 Community Manager Posted June 23, 2008 The forum database and site database are two seperate entities. I made the site database and the forum database is an off-the-shelf package from Invision Services. I'm loathe to modify the forum code too much (a) because it's on a level far superior to my own and (b) they release updates regularly, that means I have to re-do my edits every time there's a new update...and it's a beggar. Similarly in the future I hope for there to be more than one Nexus site; at which point counting the files uploaded becomes a whole lot harder. Hope that explains it for you!
NaaluNaiglemez Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 I did not know these difficulties... ok  thank you!
