Germandeathkittiez Posted April 9, 2012 Share Posted April 9, 2012 I'm posting this here to see if there's anyone on the nexus who uses this mod, can give technical answers to problems, or might have this specific problem. It's a problem I've had for a long while with WAC. When it started, I was in Elsweyr (Deserts of Anequina) and I killed a White Lion. When I went to loot his corpse, it would not work and soon after the game crashed. I also started to notice that when I load the save after encountering one of these lions, it CTDs as well. Now I realize it's with any of the cats added by WAC: Cheetahs, Panthers, Jaguars, Tigers, Sabertooths, etc. Whether I can search them or not, I get a CTD on load. I've tried looking through the new conflict detector in OBMM, and all I saw that was relevant was the Lions; they were shaded green, meaning they overwrote something but were not conflicting with it. I tried asking at the Realswords forums http://waalx.com/RealSwordsForum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=249 (You have to register) and they told me it was probably a skeleton conflict with the big cats, which is probably true. After that I tried unchecking each esp of the mod and testing, no go. When I uninstalled it, the save loaded fine, so that proved the problem was definitely WAC. Reinstalled and it still doesn't work. TES4Edited Player Summons and Birds and Insects and it still doesn't work. This makes me think it is definitely the creature skeletons. I'm not using 8th gate, Legion, Overspawn... u can see what im using in my load order. Anyway, I can find some creature skeletons in the meshes folder... how do I know for sure they're from WAC? And idk what on earth I'm supposed to do with em. I guess I open them in CS? Anyway I hope someone has some sort of advice on this, I know this mod is a beta but it doesn't seem like anyone else has encountered this problem. You can use OBMM to extract the files and folders from the OMOD to a folder (make sure you create that folder outside of any of your game's folders). Look at the details for any skeleton.nif files included in the extracted Waalx OMOD and compare those to what you have installed in the corresponding game folders (date and size in bytes, not size on disk are the tell tales you'll be looking for). If you find the game's installed files aren't the same as the ones that came with Waalx (because a later mod has overwritten the Waalx files) then copy the currently installed files to a new backup folder (again outside of the game's folders) and then overwrite the files with the ones that you found in the Waalx extracted OMOD. If that solves your problem and doesn't create any new ones you can safely delete the backed up files (I'd wait a good while though to be sure ... they don't take up much space and give you a fall back position). Therefore I'm supposed to browse a 1.5 GB bsa in order to find files the same as [mystery mod] and even if I identified the mod, I would not be sure if it's actually overriding anything so it's just a wild goose chase. So I have no idea what to do. I've tried installing the mod both with OBMM and manually. It seems my one logical option is to extract everything from the bsa into the data folder... I might end up having to do that, unless anyone's got better ideas. K, Did that, and still nothing. At this point I have no idea what the issue could be.
